A few new vids have come out in the last few days as well. I can't WAIT for RDR.

Red Dead Redemption delayed from April 27th to May 18 for NA, May 21 internationally. This article cites extra marketing time as the reason.

Rockstar additionally says from their website that the delay is to add extra polish. Frustrating, as this is my most anticipated game this year, but I suppose it's for the best. I'd rather wait 3 weeks than wade through endless patches to play a good game.

Kotaku said something along the lines of "They're waiting for the new quarter to start because it's going to be the new leading game amongst the sandbox market" sooo Rockstar just wants to build anticipation? FFFFFFFUUUUUU-

Well if it really is just to build anticipation, then... screw you Rockstar, you really don't have to do that. Everyone knows, and the more casual (hate that term) gamers who don't pay attention to such things will learn soon after the release anyway. :|

Jesus. I've only watched a minute of it because the place I'm staying at right now has slow connection but, this could be the best footage we've seen yet. All of that combat footage we've seen is nice, but I personally buy sandbox games to experience the world itself, and this looks like the best example I've seen of a living, breathing world.

GTA IV was the most entertaining tech demo I've ever played.

In it's defense, GTA III was also the first GTA game in its engine and the games that came after it were much better. Expect to see GTA: Los Venturas or what have you with the same engine and much better gameplay than IV.

i was merely stating that i feel sa could easily hold that title. just merely playing out the gta connection because SA>* at this point in time.

It was called Red Dead Revolver and was a third person level-based shooter for the PS3 and Xbox.

Revolver came out about a year before the 360 was released, and 2 before the ps3 xD. there was like tech demos and shit of a RDR2 on the 7th gen consoles, but it essentially became redemption.

Sorry, it's a knee-jerk reaction to add a 3 at the end of PS. It was released for the PS2 and Xbox.

Meh. If you've got a PS2 or a PS3 with backwards compatability it'd be worth trying out. I remember it being really fun up until the part I couldn't get past. But hey, I was like 11.

Really. I guess I wouldn't know, I don't really pay attention to the things R* does outside of the games themselves and I've enjoyed the hell out of every one of their games I've bought. Yes, even GTA IV.

Clunky controls aside (seriously what the HELL were they thinking) GTA IV's a solid game, but then I'm easily impressed by good tech and atmosphere which GTA IV has a lot of.

Personally I thought GTA IV was brilliant, one of my favourite games in recent years. Then again it was the first game I played on 360.

Oh wow. This is the sequel to Red Dead Revolver? I played RDR for PS2, and it was alright. This looks sooo much better!

W-w-wait, I have been looking around and... I think this has multi player... this game is going to be amazing.

It does, I think it has all the GTA IV gametypes but with RDR twists. Like races will be with horses.

Besides freeroam mode, I'm most looking forward to Capture the Bag (of gold.) Match has two towns at either end of a stretch of desert, the object is to steal the opposing posse's gold and bring it back to your town. The catch... The battlefield between the towns is littered with old school lead ball cannons and turrets.

You can even dress your avatar up as a native american for multiplayer, so theoretically you could have a cowboy vs. indians thing going on.

Cant wait, I remember RPing for a couple of hours in GTA4's free roam mode with Tim, we were poor Zombie brothers... we RP'd it seriously and... it was surprisingly awesome.

It's a teaser pic, just a bunch of dudes in a line, but we could assume that there are some kind of titles or classes in RDR because of the names above the character's actual name.

Tl;dr version:

• Five gametypes as opposed to GTA IV's 15
• Freeroam, Hold Your Own (CTF), Gold Rush (sort of like a free-for all CTF) Gang Shootout, and Shootout (death matches)
• Freeroam has pretty much everything you can do in SP, minus story missions.
• Dead-eye is available in some form for MP. Available in all modes but Freeroam. The article says it's bullet-time, but the only way that could work is if time is slowed for everyone as you watch one dude shoot everybody. That sounds REALLY annoying, the only way I can see it justified is if it can only be used so many times by everyone in one match.
• My favorite thing about this article is that FINALLY, out of all of the previewers who have spent time with the game, this one finally describes the aiming system in RDR:

YES. GTA IV's lock-on was terribad and no fun after a while.

Lock on ruined GTA IV multiplayer. Yeah the option to turn it off was there but nobody ever used it. Was especially crap in free roam when you're trying to do something cool and then "LOL I SHOOT U"
