Danska: Shadow Master
Which boss in GS1 would you say was hardest to beat? Just wondering.

I personally found the kraken pretty tough. It's the only boss I didn't beat first time in the game.
ANTI-FLAG
i thought deadbeard was the hardest because i wasnt leveled up enough to beat him
Swiftwoodwind
i got massacred by the tempest lizard, since i was at such a low level when i fought him... little did i know he was optional
Danska: Shadow Master
I found Deadbeard ok, strangely enough. I was only at level 25 when I faced him, but beat him first time.

Djinn are the key to all boss battles! If you know your Djinn and how to use them, you can beat anything!

I never bothered to try and avoid the tempest lizard. I enjoy boss battles! I actually enjoyed that one quite a bit.
Swiftwoodwind
you wouldnt enjoy it if half your character were below level 20...
thaats one thing i learned through the game... you cant let people die and have everybody else hog the EXP!!!
Danska: Shadow Master
Yes, that is irritating. I often wondered why some characters were higher levels than the others when they were the same when they met up. rolleyes.gif
Colonel Tycho
The Kraken was definitely the hardest. After you face 3 semi-tough enemy groups, and then this huge gigantic sea creature that heals itself and puts you to sleep, you die. I had to face kraken at least 5-10 times, he was so hard for me. Sad, I know, but that was when I was just learning GS.
MysticWarrior
Since I don't use djinn summons to make it easy, boring, and quick, the Fusion Dragon was the hardest for me. After you face Saturos and Menardi, which, on my first try, took out 2 party members, the Fusion Dragon comes and whooped my butt.
Shikonaurum
Hmm.. I should try that sometime. Try beating all the bosses by just attacking.. Or maybe just Saturos and Menardi. That's be fun... *goes to try it* It's a good thing, that in GS, if you die, well, you just have to revive yourself.. Not like some games where you die you just go back to where you last saved..
Danska: Shadow Master
I usually use summons. I used 'em on Saturos and Menardi, but not on the fusion dragon. I didn't actually find the fusion dragon that hard anyway though. It's only really good attack was outer space. The others were mainly good, but not that strong. The main problem was the fact that it has loadsa hp. Takes a while to kill.

Yeah, the problem with the kraken is that it can seriously affect your status and heal. That's what really got me. If it hadn't been able to do that it woulda been easy. tongue.gif
Shikonaurum
Well, you can heal and change the status of your opponenets too, so I guess it's not all that unfair...

Did anyone else think Deadbeard was easy? I beat him just with the four lv. 4 summons..
Colonel Tycho
???? How high of lvl were your people??? Deadbeard wasnt that easy. He is the toughest boss in the game.
Shikonaurum
I dunno. I think I was around lv. 34.. But then, after I beat him, I decided that was too easy and tried finding a harder route..
Danska: Shadow Master
Deadbeard easy? I found him moderately challenging at level 50!!!
Shikonaurum
Well, I guess there are different opinions on Deadbeard.. I think the game I had kept on switching Deadbeard's AI around.. First time, it was hard, and then the second... well.. that was the time I beat him in 4 summons.
Danska: Shadow Master
How strange.

I have to say, Saturos was kinda hard too. He was harder than Saturos and Menardi together definately! (and the music was cooler tongue.gif) When I first fought him on my friend's gameboy, I managed to beat him second time though (much to my friend's surprise).

There're only three bosses in gs1 and 2 I've ever lost against (on my game). Kraken a few times, Dullahan once, and Doom Dragon about four times.
MysticWarrior
Deadbeard was anything BUT hard. Am I the only one that fights honorably(no summons)???
Shikonaurum
Well.. I kind of died a lot. GS was my first RPG (excluding Pokemon, which I can hardly give any credit to these days), so I kept on getting lost. Sometimes I couldn't even find where the stairs were.. >_< Although that was more of a vision problem than anything else.

So, in my first game, I got lost. Badly. A lot of bosses took me by surprise that way..
MysticWarrior
I remember when Dullahan took me by surprise. My party was badly wounded, no djinns were set, and I wasted 20,000 hp of him, and he still had more.
Danska: Shadow Master
I was in the same situation Shikonaurum. Fortunately, I seem to have a natural talent at rpg games. biggrin.gif I'm serious! I don't know why, but I seem to be really good at rpg games! meh, guess I'm just lucky.

I know what you mean about dullahan. I put those blocks in the right place, used hover, then I was like AAAAAAAAHH! so I switched off and got myself ready. laugh.gif
Colonel Tycho
Ya that pert with dullahan taking you by surprise happened to me too. Kraken also takes you by surprise, the first time you face him. You think he will be like any other sea monster, and you intend to save when you get out on deck, but then you can't and its a super hard boss.
Shikonaurum
I did that too, with Dullahan. Part of me expected more of a maze after pushing the blocks together, so I died.. quickly.
Danska: Shadow Master
Yes, that was another problem with 'em. Then, I suppose it makes it more fun.

Deadbeard was like that too. then, quite a few bosses were. It'd be no fun if you knew instantly when there was gonna be a boss battle.
MysticWarrior
I knew a kraken was up on deck, because every other normal monster just comes below decks, and because of the rumbling. Still, you can't prepare yourself even if you do know.
Colonel Tycho
Ya I guess it is more fun when the bosses are hidden and you dont know when they appear. The mimics are kind of like that, but you have more of an idea when there is one, since they are always in plain sight.
Danska: Shadow Master
Heehee, mimics. yes. I like mimics, but don't like fighting 'em. (yes, I'm strange) they're great inventions! Just really annoying. I never bother fighting 'em, as it's so much easier not to.

That's true MysticWarrior, it's almost impossible to prepare for it. It's as much luck as skill sometimes.
ANTI-FLAG
i found kraken the easiest for me, deadbeard really only gave me trouble, then i went to the fusion dragon, he was fun to beat
Shikonaurum
Preparations for such a thing makes the boss battles a bit too.. um... predictable? I mean, if you go and heal everyone, equip stuff, set djinn.. That ruins the effect.. But then again, that's what guides do.. And I'm a person who commonly uses guides, or else I'd still be stuck in Mercury lighthouse with one djinn each person....
Iloverpgs
The kraken was really hard for me because I was on a really low lvl.
ANTI-FLAG
hydos stature was really more annoying then hard, cause you had to beat all the water monsters throughout the tunnels then beat the big one, gave you plenty of exp points though
Colonel Tycho
Hydros were peices of cake. All you had to use were 2-3 four summons, and they were dead. Easy as pie, and not annoying at all. The weird thing was that you could get frost twice in the game, because Mia comes with it and then you get the Frost Stone thing.
FusionDragon28
I really hated Deadbeard. I would use Psynergies such as Resist, High Impact, and Guard and Deadbeard would keep using Break, while raising up his defense so high that my attacks did like 20 damage. dry.gif

FD28
Danska: Shadow Master
Then use break on him as well tongue.gif

I never bother with stat-boosting attacks. I prefer to get the damage in there as fast and effectively as possible. It usually works.

Heehee, Kraken's in the lead! tongue.gif
Colonel Tycho
You don't need stat raisers. Just use the djinn flash every other turn. Your people will only take 20 damage tops.
Stephen the Swift
i say deadbeard, with spark plasma and other tough psynergy and lots of speed and turns its pretty difficult
Shikonaurum
I probably would say Kraken... Although it wasn't all the unexpected (in my standards, the Killer Ape or whatever in Mogall was rather unexpected), it's annoying... And you're already weakened, sometimes.
Someone
I think Deadbeard was. i could never beat him...
Elliott
I havn't got GS1 but i voted for the last boss (saturos and menardi, fusion dragon) cos it looked hard...
The?
Well, considering the fact that I was lvl 60 when I fought deadbeard and It was really easy (due to the tempest lizard, thankyuveramuch) I would say that the Manticore was tough, as I was under lvl 20. I had to redo over and over. And I was right at the tippy top of CRASH losing 1/4 of my health due to the "heat" (and you wonder why Garet can't stand it) so Mia's wish well took away some PP.
Nick Presta
Kradken was the hardest by far for that point in the game.
Izar
I had three djinn IN ALL when I fought saturos and i died then the second time, I had 2 djinn each the second time, ez. ph34r.gif
blast
i think that kraken was the toughest..

b.t.w how you get a picture in your name unsure.gif send me a message
garrzaboy
All you GS dudes out there. I am the master of GS and nobody can beat me!!! wahahaha....lvl 99 and I am indestructable.....and btw....no cheats.....I'm just a full hard core trainer......just like Son Gokou....Peace out dudes...and keep training, cuz you'll never beat me with Saturos in my team.....yes, Saturos is in my party! Peace out...
Garrzapoo tongue.gif
Elliott
I'm pretty sure no ones believes you about Saturos. And maybe if you could just shup up, that'd be cool. My characters a level 60ish because I have a life.
MysticWarrior
garrzaboy, you cannot have Saturos on your time, at least not without major hacking/cheating into the data.

Agatio, that was mean. Just because he has lvl 99s means he doesn't have a life? GS2 is out for over a year, he might've went to lvl 99 in his spare time.

I'm still sticking with M/S+DD for the same reasons as I have stated before.
Elliott
yeh sorry about that, i was in a bad mood this morning. but anyway..

saturos and fusion dragon
FSOW11
Saturos and Menardi were pretty hard but then the fusion dragon came and blew me away
even tho i used ground and luff my strategy didnt work
so wen i went to the sanctum after i lost
i went crazy over nuts, herbs, potions and all that crap
i bought 30 nuts,30 herbs,1 potion and 3 waters of life 4 each character
then i just kept unleashing/summoning djinn and i barely used psynergies
the only psynergy i used was wen all of mias djinn were on recovery so i used Glacier
and wenever sum1 got to low HP i used either a nut, potion or herb depending on how severe the damage is
well i got a little help from the prima's official strategy guide so it wasnt really a sweat
MysticWarrior
... Remember, Felix, to just press the Add Reply button ONCE! I'm going to remove the second post, I don't think it's intentional...

The second hardest boss for me is the Kraken, it's the only monster where I died on, save the Fusion Dragon... gs_frown.gif
Elliott
lol, Felix_Savior_Of_Weyard11, your username is too big.
I think it's hard versing FD right after saturos and menardi.
Shadowed Freedom
lol, defenitly FD was the hardest, but being the boss of the game he/she/it should be... i found that satouros and manardi was easy but i guess i was strong after training 4 hours straight...
