This is a weird problem where if I try to go to anyplace in GSS, my browser would instead try to open/download it in a PHP file. This only seems to affect Firefox.

So how did I get in anyway through Firefox? I went to Google, typed in Golden Sun Syndicate forum, and viewed the site through clicking on "cache". I then logged in like normal.

It happened on Firefox first for me, and then I went to IE and the same thing happened.

It works fine now, but I'd like to know what happened?

Our webhost was upgrading PHP on the server, and something went wrong midway. It took them about an hour to resolve the problem, but that was why you were seeing the errors. Once I became aware of what was going on, I put up a temporary page so people stopped receiving the download prompt.

If you clear your browser's cache, everything should be fine now.

That would explain my 'hacker' claims...GSSF goes down way too often.

This forum is dangerously unstable! We must evacuate to... someplace else! Run for your lives!

I'm guessing the host hasn't actually fixed out all the bugs since "upgrading", but if there's another explanation I'd like to hear it.

I was in the middle of a post when I got hit with a message that seemed to indicate a server overflow. It stuck like that for a few hours.

The sad thing is, if you're here enough to notice these things...yeah...it's sad.

Yes, we have been having an unusual amount of downtime lately. The problems stem from an attempted upgrade of PHP on the server. Since then, there have been some problems with the MySQL daemon on the server. I threatened the owner/president of our web host that I would leave if it happened again, but he assured me they were doing they best they can and asked me to give them one more chance.

If it continues past tomorrow, we will be moving hosts this weekend. Otherwise, I ask that you please bear with the inconvenience a few more days as we try to figure this out.

Well, GSSF is down practically 80% of the time I try to visit. And it's unusually slow, but I think my connection is having some issues.

It's not just your connection. I wouldn't say 80%, but it's getting worse in other ways. It used to be that it would be down when I went to the forum and I'd just have to wait a few minutes. Now I'm having to copy and paste all my posts into a notepad document because I get that error message when I click post new message. When it comes back up my post is gone. It's really annoying when I'm trying to rant at Toasty.
