Vincent was awesome too, you gotta love his red cape thingy! Bot to mention his odd arm, just like Cloud from KH! And the Bandaged Buster Sword was a great touch IMO!
I would faint if they made a KH Sequal where you play as Cloud! You know, KH style battles, but with Cloud beating the crap out of the enemy rather than a 14 year old brat with a funky hairdo and a Key for a weapon! :D
We need to Ditch Donald and Goofy on KH2 and use Riku & King Micky in the party, I know it ain't gonna happen, but you gotta admit Midget, it would 0wn!

Or use three Ice cards for Blizaga. But three cards take time to find, so you could just keep using attack cards.

In your opinions, do you think the characters would look as good as they were in KH, if Disney wasn't having a partnership in the game too? Do you think it would look better, or worse? Would Cloud have that bandaged up Buster Sword, or that Vincent-Style claw-hand? Would Sora still use a Keyblade rather than some other weapon? Would Yuffie act so innocent when really she's a spunky and arrogant materia hunter? And many other changes that may have not been there, what do you think? :P

Disney eally idn't do much when it came to the game, they basicly owned the charecters and sold it. he game hints at complex storyline points instead of directly confronting them, this is good because it leaves more secets and uncertanties. Which leaves room for ansers in the sequel. This makes you really have to think to figure it all truely out, or just go with what they give you. Making it truely two games in one. A complex though out one, and a simple fun one, tat both share the same story.
An example is that you could think of a heartless as a monster with no heart, Or a heart self coverted to the form of a creater who is kept alive souly by a light surounded by darkness, who's soul purpouse is the return to the world it came from, where it's memories are held from a life before. :P

First, level 75 at least, and ultima keyblade would be good to.
First bar, just glide over his attack and strike, then doge roll away, repeat
Second bar, when he uses an attack where he moves one hand then you loose all magic and health, hit him before it gets out. Hit him before he glows, or else.
Third, bacsicly the same but use guard on the multi hit strike.
Fourth, doge meteors, same deal.
Finall, right after tornado strike nail him, and doge and guard everything, and get the hits when you can, every little bit counts! You can also just go nuts on the guy but have Curaga ready and waiting.
NOTE: If you can use the guard tech. on normal shots, you will get loads of experiance. And Magic has no effect on him, so don't waste it on spells other than Curaga.

Fell into the game by sheer coincidence.
Saw the commercial and thought I saw Kuja in it (when it was actually Sephiroth) and then researched the game. Then I found out that it was a Disney incorporated game, so I lost interest in it for about a day. Then I kept looking over info on the game, and started to get really interested in it.
Since I didn't have a PS2, I had to rent the system and the game. In the first 10 minutes of playing, I was hooked. Kept saying to myself "This game....is awesome."
Now I own the game (and a PS2) and I've lost count as to how many times I've replayed it ^^;
I have to wait till Xmas to play KH:COM tho -_-

What you have to do with Phantom is pay close attention to that crystal heart in its cloak. Its pretty simple...really.
When it turns red, use Fire/Fira/Firaga attacks on it until the heart changes color.
When its blue, use Blizzard/Blizzara/Blizzaga.
When its yellow, use Thunder/Thundara/Thundaga.
When it has no color to it, you're free to attack it with the keyblade (recommend using Ars Arcanum at that time)
Careful, tho. Make sure you keep Phantom away from the clock.
My memory's a bit fuzzy on what to do when it gets near the clock, but I know you have to use Stop/Stopra/Stopaga on the clock when a countdown begins. If you don't, one of your party members will be cast to oblivion (meaning they will remain fainted throughout the REST of the battle and you can't revive them).

Well, it seems like a cool game, but I still don't really trust games made byDisney, however. =/ I've heard good stuff about it, like how it has Final Fantasy characters in it. I'll end up buying one of it's GBA games someday.

There's also a girl being held captive inside the castle you're trying to escape from in the game. She sounds pretty familiar for the people who played the PS2 version. I'll give you two hints; she likes to draw a lot, and she used to live on Destiny Islands with Sora and the gang.
... Nope, it's not Kairi.

Can anyone give me tips for decks in CoM?
#103
Posted 09 July 2005 - 09:34 AM
As for the tips...well, Riku has his own deck. For Sora...I gave him a healthy dose of attack cards that were 5 or higher, 4 or 5 magic cards, two healing cards, a Hi-Potion, and two Cloud summons. That got me through a good amount of the game.

I loved Sora's deck, because iut's his deck you could modify. Before I gave the game back to my friend, my Sora file had attacking cards no lower than 6 or 7. The two Clouds I had included were pretty useful as well. They were part of my main attacking strategy against the Parasite Cage.

Yea Sora's deck was cool. Always ran out of CP tho. Had around 7+ attack, 5 heal and 3 clouds. I wasn't happy with the final boss. Wasn't a hard battle, just a long one. Axel and the guy who used ice was harder imo.

Anywho, I finished Neverland, and Captain Hook was much easier because I had Donald and Goofy, and I had a MUCH bigger playing field. I also completed Hollow Bastion to the point that I fitted the emblem pieces into the door. Also, I swear, Beast is like a god. He can kill a Defender with 3 normal attacks.
I'm training my characters a lot right now. Yesterday, I got all my party members to grow 3 or 4 levels because of the Colliseum. Hercules was such a pushover. He gave even more exp. than Cloud, and Cloud was twice as hard.

KH and KH2 have always been meant for PlayStation. Chain of Memories was supposed to be a small game for a handheld. the best one at the time was GBA, so they went for that. GC is ending its life, so I doubt there will be any for that system.

Ok...*Kingdom Hearts 2 spoiler*
When I revisited Twilight Town, it was fun when I arrived. Fighting those Berserker Nobodies with their own hammers and Reaction Commands was really fun n.n

I thought the game sucked real ****. that's all i got out of it really.
The plot is too complex its not fun anymore.
spoiler* the ending kinda gave me shivers, sora rubbing goofy's lip, hugging donald, mickey pouncing on riku... *rolls eyes*
other than that i guess it was okay, didn't really notice anything new other than the drives. I'm not even ganna try to do jimminy's journal...
sorry for being a critic... i guess.

Just cos you haven't been following the game doesn't mean we can't talk about it. The fact that Square realeased such info like Auron would be in it and Port Royal would be a world keep the game alive. It has been four years since the first one, if they had realeased no info prior to the game it would've flopped.
Julian-Why didn't you like it? Is it mainly becuase the plot become more complex? ie, the organiztion, Blonde Haired Kid etc?

It's because...
MAJOR SPOILERS***
- Maleficent comes back and so does a lot of villains who i supposedly defeated in kh1, well i guess all that time just went down the drain.
- Nobodies are introduced.... i guess square must be running out of ideas because this seems completely random. I just found the entire thing ridiculous.
- The entire game is the whole notion of the Nobodies trying to pocess kingdom hearts so that they would have a meaning for existance :P rather dumb if you asked me, too bad the nobodies still have the ability to think...
I guess the entire thing just seemed like a kingdom hearts 1 revamp where they just changed the "heartless" to "nobody" and reduced the overall importance of heartlesses.

I still do not have KH2, it's no where close to be realeased here. Although I have 3 plans, one my friend is trying to burn it, two, my other friend is trying to burn it. three, my parents are in Europe right now so they can pick me up a copy (my ps2 is chipped)!

MOST reviewers (Gamespot's for example, I'm not talking about sh*t ones) have mentioned the fact that it will improve your experience on KH2 to play CoM. They're not talking slightly, but they mean you will not understand quite a few storyline elements because alot of the references in KH2 are not for KH1 but for CoM. So don't sit there and tell me it doesn't have a substantial plot relation when people who have reviewed the games say the complete opposite.

If I bought FFX-2 without playing FFX, it can be argued that it's not "vital" but the fact remains that if I played FFX first I would enjoy the sequel far more because I would understand a few things at certain cutscenes that I didn't understand before.

As far as I know, there's absolutely no info on KH:3 other than it's going to be made as of this point in time.
Your best bet for more information would be the ending to KH:Coded, as it's supposed to take place after KH:2.

L: Move camera left
R: Move camera right
L or R twice: Camera resets behind player
L+R: Lockon
D-pad: Control character
X: Scroll through command list (attack, magic, item)
A: Perform command
B: Jump, double tap for double jump, press with direction after jumping once to air slide
Y: Reflect Guard, press with direction for dodge roll, after jumping press with direction to glide
Start: Pause
The devs over at SQEX ran into some challenges converting the KH control format to the DS, a system with two less buttons and no analog sticks. I was right in guessing that they'd use a face button to scroll through the command menu, plus they've mapped the attack/use command to the A button, which is an obvious choice but might feel a little different to the PS2's lower X button.
The only thing that's missing is the shortcut menu; I just hope they'll end up putting it on the Select button, otherwise healing is going to get annoying fast. :/

and L + R sounds a little awkward for lock-on, especially for those of us with long fingers like me. Probably will be fine after a little bit of getting used to.
Other than those, sounds good.
