Well, I don't know where to put this really, but I guess here is the best place.

But basically I'm starting to try and get into the design business and so as a first step I've designed and printed some Tshirts (my own "brand" if you will)

    http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/Bevers1/BeversSkullForgeStuff/Advertpng2CLICKHERE-1.png

So yeah, you English members: BUY ONE! Its only a tenner (and £1.50 postage) and its well sexy yo.

You can also check out my myspace here:

    www.myspace.com/skullforgedesigns

You can buy one if you live outside the UK but I need to find out how much the postage would be; probably more than £1.50 methinks.

So yeah, would help me out, since I've got a whole stack of em that need shifting. And tell your friends as well. ;)

It's a very nice design, but not the sort of shirt I'd wear. Still I'm sure Caael or someone would like it.

Ohhh spade! It look pretty cool, but I'm not into skulls and stuff.
Neways, good luck on your sales. =D

Try make a design that covers the entire shirt, front and back. And one like that that has a green base and white details. ;)

Ehhh, that'd cost a bomb to print lemon. Although I am gonna start work on another one once I've sold some more of these.

Very nice, but remember, simplicity is king.
Viney stuff is awesome an all but there arent any cool parts hidden in it, which kinda removes from it I guess. Maybe it's just the dodgy quality, haha, upload an image of just the print for us to oggle at :).
Which brings up another point actually. The shirt is cool but your promotional image isn't very professional :)

I love designs like that personally. Check out www.cabinfevermedia.com, he does some similar stuff for some of his designs, I love his work.

That's awesome, Wifle. I would suggest putting the design off-center, like over the shoulder or something. It doesn't seem right in the middle.

Yeah, I need to get someone to model it really, that banner was just a quick one I did with a picture taken of the tshirt on my bed. I'll prolly get one of my friends to model it for me.

I've already got em printed though, with the design in the middle.
Oh well, my next design might be off center. I'm learning illustrator atm so I'll probably use that to work on the next design. This one was done in Photoshop.

Here is an image of the design:

^ Imagine that except the swirly bits in the spade are white and not grey. When I'm on my laptop this afternoon I'll post the one I sent to the printers up.

Oh and Kitz there are some more designs on my myspace:

Excellent stuff, Wifle. I like this kind of stuff, but I would have liked it even more if it didn't have the skull. Anyhow, my Mum's going to Liverpool in July, so I'll ask her to buy me one or two if she finds any.

                                How are sales going?

Couple of new posters for various gigs, including 'Rock of Ages Fest 2007', featuring ex-Iron Maiden vocalist's band Blaze Bayley:

                                    http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/3151/finishednewsmallhn0.png

Pretty hard to cram all the information and logos on their without it looking cramped, and not a lot of room for a proper 'theme' as such, but oh well.

                                    Also:

                                    http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/Bevers1/aslightsfade1.png

Didn't have a lot of time to do this so I just put the text on an old (unused) background for a poster I did. Ideally it would have been more gore-y.

                                        very nice :P

Just some things you might want to consider. If you're promoting a gig with many bands it might help not to have the band logos and instead have the logo for whatever the event is, with the band names as text. If the other bands are supporting a headlining band then you can always give them less priority for space.
Also, you can reduce the logos down to much smaller or just use text and then have the design concept reflect each of the bands. Alot of bands have an icon or symbol such as a giant squid or a lion or a shield. You can merge these together in some creative way.

Yeah I agree with you on just using normal text for non-headlining bands, especially if theres a lot, I'll start adopting that tactic :P

It has another benefit of people being able to read the names of the bands, I mean honestly, half of these 'Uber-death metal' bands logos are completely unreadable.

Go on, just have a guess (without looking up the promoters on myspace), what the name of the first band on the second poster in my post #17

a prize to the one who gets the closest!

Another problem with the logos being unreadable is that you can't check out the band on myspace before the gig because you don't know what their name is without a translation being posted under the logo.

Cheers for the feedback anyway Neon. I'm working on a couple more projects atm (cool Tshirt design featuring horsemen of the apocalypse, and a small logo for my mate's dad who is getting into DJ-ing)

I'll post em up when I'm done.

If you can think of a funny joke or something, then put that on a T-Shirt. I see a lot of people wearing shirts like those, so they must sell pretty well. At least as long as they're funny. But then again, putting funny stuff on T-Shirts might not be your style.

But the posters are really good. They look very professional. But I don't get why a band would have such a hard to read logo. I mean, only fans would know what it said, or if you looked it up.

Nope. Close I guess, in the fact that it starts with an 'A'.

                                                Its 4 words:

                                                A_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ _

You were meant to try and guess different letters by looking at the logo and interpretting it.

It was 'Annotations of an Autopsy' if you were interested. Yeah. Crazy. I can kind of see the 'Autopsy', but I wouldn't have if I didn't know what it said beforehand.

Took Neon's advice and only used the official band logo for Architects (which was simple anyway)

                                                    Enjoy:

Logo for my mate's dad who wants to become a DJ.

Done in Adobe Illustrator, which I'm learning at the moment. Its quite hard to get used to, as it works in vectors instead of pixels. Upside of which is that you can resize to any size you want (even as big as the side of a building) and it won't loose any quality.

Photoshop for the posters, Illustrator for the logos.

He said it looked too evil and he wanted it more mishevous, so heres another attempt:

Although I think this one looks too happy. Its harder to do an obviously mishcevous but not evil grin :/
