Pet Peeves Need to rant?

When people call soft drinks (Pepsi, Sprite, Coke, etc.) "soda pop"
I call soft drinks "soda" as do most people on this side of the country, but my dad calls it "soda pop" and it just pisses me off so much to hear it. I know that people call "soda" different things at different sides of the world ranging from "soda" (notably California) to just "pop" (Washington I think?) but something about "soda pop" and when my dad says it just makes my blood pressure rise. Why would you need to add an extra word to it? Why not just leave it at one of those? Is there something about saying "soda pop" that makes you feel cooler or something?
What's your pet peeve, those little things that just make you want to punch a baby?

One of my Pet Peeves is when I am going to see a moive that I havent seen, read a book I haven't read, or watch a taped sports event, and someone tells me right of the back what happens. "Is that the Magic game. It was cool espeacly when "so an so" made the winning basket at the buzzer." or "Harry Potter book six,
I hate when people do that.

When you walk out of a room with people in and they snigger as soon as you leave, but some kind of force prevents you from going back in and saying ' Why were you laughing?'
Stupid people. There's this kid in my science group called Pip, who's vegan, and some dumbass called Jake. We're doing somethign with cotton wool, and Jake goes ' Pip, you cant use cotton wool because it's made from sheep!' He's a dumb boy, he really is.

I'm annoyed with my own feelings of doubt in myself. Like when it came to the GCSE results I always kept thinking about what might go wrong. I never seemed to consider how I may have done well (which I did in the end).
I want to say it's just human nature and move on, but other people managed to stride into the school with a lot of confidence. Either there good actors or I really need to believe in myself.

Through the many posts of yours I've read, you just need to be more confident. Don't think "Oh man, this thing is so freaking hard, I'm screwed." Instead, think "Hah. I know this stuff like the back of my hand. This won't take long at all."
And as for school in general, just forget about stress. If you find that hard to do, just quit thinking for a bit. Seriously.
Heck, I do that a lot, as many people I know would attest to. XD
But even if you end up getting an average score, say, a C or a B on a test, look at it like this: At least you passed, and a C/B is a lot better than an F.
Most of the time, at least as long as you aren't completely stupid, you'll get a good grade if you give it your best shot. And I'm pretty sure you aren't stupid.

But The Unit is an awesome show. And I'll watch Stargate SG1/Atlantis every once in a while. They're usually pretty interesting.
But MI-5.....just plain sucks. I dunno. Dr. Who is the only british show I'll watch. But my main complaint with British television, is the way the picture is made. Compare clips of 24 to MI-5, and you'll see a difference in the overall picture It's not nessicarily a lower/higher quality, it's just different.

I agree, I hate soap operas too. I'll have to contradict myself though, because Dream Team is a soap opera and I watch that show all the time and know all the characters and stuff. It's the only soap opera that I've ever liked, because it's just so much more interesting than others and has such better characters. It's less of a soap opera than others though, since it also has football and other stuff...

Dear Bill Gates,
My old Hotmail works fine. In fact, it's much faster than the bull**** Windows Live Mail which I used for a total of one week. I don't want fancy buttons and I don't need 2 GB of storage. I'm not a businessperson, I don't have 16,000 emails in my inbox. I'm just a very passive internet user with a sudden inclination to check my email. PLEASE LET ME DO THIS IN PEACE! No, I don't want a popup telling me "how super cool Windows Live is!", I DON'T CARE. In closing, leave me alone. Hotmail is fine the way it is. I'll admit Windows Live Messenger is pretty cool, but Windows Live Mail sucks ass. Goodnight to you.

I don't really find any subject hard or difficult, but writing is just so dang annoying. I hate it. I'm not bad at it, hell, I've gotten many compliments from my previous teachers for my writing. It's just that I have a major writers block, and I'm about as creative as Sony. I don't even see why you need to take any english classes past the 7th grade unless you want to become a writer or poet, as you'll NEVER use anything other than what you learned during those 7 years in a typical job. All you need is to know how oto write a report, and spell. I doubt you're boss will care if it's creative or interesting to read.

Something I've noticed recently is that I like Coffee. I like the taste and it's good. The problem is that it's so damn hot you have to wait for it to cool down before you can drink it. I don't want to wait! I want to drink it now!
#73
Posted 05 September 2007 - 04:37 PM
...No. I should really stop doing that.
Another thing that irritates me is, whenever I post, the first time I hit the Enter button to skip a line, Firefox quits and it says "Firefox quit unexpectedly. Is this okay with you?" (Or something like that...) Then I have to say "Yes", then the computer says, "Would you like to restore your previous session?" and I say "Yes" and it restores it, typing and all. Then it's fine until I log out, log in the next time and try to post.
Sheesh, it's so consistent the "unexpected" quitting is starting to become expected...

Yes, because Ridley ISN'T the main boss of every Metroids and he DIDN'T make Samus what she is today, and she WOULDN'T be a bounty hunter because of him, and the series totally WOULDN'T change without him.
Groudon is TOTALLY the main villain of every pokemon game, and Ridley is TOTALLY a stupid filler boss like Petey. He's obviously NOT important enough to be playable, despite being the main villain of metroid. He's obviously TOO big to be playable, despite Bowser being 3 TIMES Mario's height in 64, and over 10 in Sunshine. It's OBVIOUS that Ridley is too awquard to be in Brawl, MORE awquard than Pokemon trainer and Wario, he's just NOT right for Brawl AT ALL.
I was completely WRONG to think he would be in Brawl, God, i'm an IDIOT.

I hate it when IE blocks a popup, and displays a little bar to say 'Look what I did!', and while it's doing that more popups are appearing.

And little kids don't venture out of the house that much, so there you go.
However, my best friend has lots of cousins (it's a Mexican family. Yeah) and sometimes when I'm at his house playing Halo or Battlefront with him, some of his younger cousins will come over. They ALWAYS want to play despite the fact they have the same games at their house. It doesn't make any sense!

Well, if they're being bratty about it, I'd unplug the console and walk off with it. If you're parents question you, simply respond "They didn't say please." Works every time. I think.
......never tried it.

I'll try that

It's funny when they go on my drums though, as they try to steal one of the drums or cymbals and they find it too heavy.

Also people who try so hard to be something they're not. This can range from trying to be "cool", fitting into stereotypes, to changing yourself for that person you like. None of them lead to happiness, all they lead to is fakeness, and in the case of the last one, a bad relationship.
Also people who stop in the hall. That is so annoying. It seemed to be couples that where the worst at my high school though. They'd just stop right there in the halls, and kiss each other blocking everybody... and they took their time. I also remember in intermediate high school we had a circle of people who would block a WHOLE hallway for the whole five minutes that we had to get between classes. You had to find another route because they wouldn't let you through. :P

And also when they stop to chat right in the middle of a busy hallway intersection. I want to shout "MOVE, YOU'RE HOLDING UP TRAFFIC DAMN IT"
The hallways in my school are small already, so it doesn't help when they clog it up.

1. All girls, no matter what they look like and no matter what their personality is like, are obsessed with their looks. The second reason is kinda a continuation to this.
2. They want other girls and especially guys to say they are pretty or hot, even if they know the whole school would gladly **** 'em.

From what I've seen they also like to make bulletins for each and every picture threatening to remove you from their friend list if you don't give them picture comments. I'm not kidding, I've seen it!
Some people are genuinely unhappy with the way they look, though.
Anyways. That is a pet peeve of mine as well. Especially the whole My Space thing. >_>

But then, I also hate pretty girls who KNOW they're pretty and outright flaunt it. Like, "lol i m so pretty dun u wana **** me?" It's arrogant.

And I mean, I totally believe in the "if you got it, flaunt it" point of view. If you're a girl with a nice body, wear clothes to complement it, but I think there's a certain point that it's a bit much. Some girls at school wear these tops where like, half their boobs are exposed. I'd like to see them run in those.

@ Caael: I'm jealouse of your having a drumsetness. I'd get one if I had the cash. And It's not just to have one either (that's another pet peeve), I'd actually use it.
But one thing that I hate, is people who will go out and buy something just because everyone else has it, or because they're trying to be someone their not.
I'm a drummer, set and marching, so I kinda want a drumset. My mom wants me to get one, but she doesn't want to have one in the house. And then there's the money....

Get a set of bongos, or congas, or a djembe if you don't have space/money/tolerance for a real set. Then you can be different and awesome when everyone you know has a drumset. My drums are in my unfinished basement, with spiders, centipedes, and mold everywhere. It kinda sucks, but it's cool. I'd go for a djembe, because it's sorta like a conga and a bongo in one. You might need lessons for it. Maybe.
Anyway, I don't like overly emotional people. Especially girls. Who are like "Hug me!" and I'm like, "No thanks!" and their like, "Oh you're so mean!" and them looked depressed, and then hug you when you're not paying attention. And people who act very self righteous about what music they listen to, and show it off all the time, when most people don't care. And then talk too much. About cutting themselves and suicide.

I know some, but they don't try to hug me. One group of girls knew me as "Stripper Cowboy" (ask them, I have no idea) another would try to take pictures of me. So far this year, I haven't had that problem.
What annoys me, Firefox says it has an update and pulls up a message asking if it's okay to restart to install said update. Same thing with iTunes updates.

1. All the girls on your team and your opponents group together and pay no attention whatsoever about the game, or anything else.
2. Your trying you best to beat your opponents, but your teamates arent taking the games seriously. It makes me wanna yell at everybody. But in their eyes, im racialy insuperior to them, and therefor have no power over them.
I have so many racist kids at my school its not even funny
