So I just bought a External Hard Drive. The problem isn't with the HD itself, the problem is with the power adopter.

It has two plugin wires for power. One wire that plugs into the HD, and ends as an adapter. The other wire, plugs into the adapter and into a 3 hole pluggin. Now, the power gets to the adaptor, as the light on it is on, but it just seems to stop there. The power goes into the adapter, but doesn't continue into the Hard Drive. The HD doesn't even signify having power, as there is are two LEDs to show wether it is on or off, and neither is on. This is the HD: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...65000FS10062465.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I'd probably go to tech support first, because I doubt any of us have a solution.

But since I'm here, is there a power switch on the HD itself? Might be off.

My only recomendations, and these come from the resident computer tech in my house, is make sure all power cables are firmly seated. If it still don't work, take it back to the store for a warrenty replacement.

Problem was a faulty wire. We figured it out. We took it back, and got a 320GB for $99 that was marked down RIGHT before we got there. It was on sale ftw. So I got that, and BioShock. Came out ahead.

Problem solved. Close the topic please.
