This would be an awesome time to be a garbage man.

So I'm guessin that this gap in space is like, a billion light years across or something? Because things are pretty far away from eachother even without a hole in between them.

As far as I could tell from reading that article, the gap itself is expanding, which would mean that every star it came close to would disappear or something. Tell me if I'm wrong, I wasn't really concentrated when reading the article.

What i ment on the other half was that perhaps the univers isnt infinetly expanding, and that as it grow larger, the older parts become stretched. That would meen that one day, the universe would get so big that it couldnt stretch anymore, and we would get the big Crunch l:0

Pity we won't be around for the end of the universe.

Well anyway, I guess if that's a space of nothingness... maybe the universe will rip in half?

If the hole is expanding by equal incriments on all sides, then that would mean that the universe was expanding away from that spot.
And DS, if the universe stretches for an infinite distance in all directions, how is it possible for it to stretch, since it's already streached as much as it can? I mean, when you hit infinity, you can't really go any farther.

As far as I know, the Universe has no center. But in my book, that can't be. The Universe stated with the Big Bang right? As in, ginormouse explosion. Every explosion has to come from a central point somewhere.

Exactly.
It's been established already that it's not a black hole, and it's safe to say it's not a stretch in space either. So does anybody else have any ideas they'de like to throw in?

Now when we say it's a hole does that mean it's a void?
