I was over at a friend's today (birthday), she got Wind Waker pretty recently, and she asked me to beat the boss at Tower of the Gods because it was too hard for her. (don't know why she thought that I could do it considering I don't play consoles that often, but I beat him pretty easy anyway cause I'm awesome like that. Yay for dodging skills) So yeah, then cutscene... we're at Hyrule Castle, everything's frozen in time. We need to collect "the item" here, but there's NOTHING to do in the castle. I deduced that we need to move the blocks in the triforce thingy there to match them up to the triangles of the triforce on the ground, but we don't know how. Every walkthrough on the net that I've looked at has been vague, some even admitted that it was hard to explain and just told us to move them in the triangles, which is overwhelmingly annoying.
Any help at all?

Press the "R" button to grab the blocks. They move through rotation, so if you grab the right side of one of it's faces and pull, it'll rotate clockwise, pivoting on the corner that would be to your left. The other way would be to push, and the same rules would apply, except for the blocks rotating the other way.
It doesn't matter if you box your self in, because if for some reason they don't line up right (which would warrent a "WTF?!"), then you can always push your way out. But if they do line up right, they'll sink into the ground. I won't spoil what happens for you, but all I can say is that if you want to collect the the little trophy figurine thingies, have your delux pictobox on hand.

Ask me anything you wish about Wind waker, I mastered that game.
...
So yeah, just do what Toasty said. I can't explain it better.

Yeah, she figured it out this morning. I'm used to OOT's control scheme, so if something could be pushed I thought A would do it and not R. She claims to have completely ignored the way controls work (she's only played the very first Zelda) so I guess she didn't know until now? Shrug.

Yeah, Toasty pretty much said it perfectly. That said, no reason why this shouldn't have been in the gaming forum.

I guess we can keep this open. She might have a question again. Unless she needs help fighting, in which case I'll have to bike over. Wheeee
