GameInformer interviewed the Camelot brothers Hiroyuki and Shugo Takahashi, and slipped in Golden Sun (twice).

Well that's encouraging. Doesn't confirm GS3 but at least they remember how successful the series was.

First of all, I love that game and I love the world of Golden Sun. We think we have to make another one. We have to do it! Not just that we have to do it, but we want to do it. Nintendo has asked us to please make it. But at the same time we haven’t gotten around to making it. We’re not really sure why. (laughs)

Yeah ****ing right, who are they kidding?! If Nintendo had asked them, they would have made it pronto.

        Takahashi said:

As Camelot, we think of ourselves as being a company that makes RPGs. In an RPG you role-play as another character. In the sports games, you’re role playing as yourself. I want to let the fans know that in the center of our way of thinking the games that we’re making now are close to RPGs. The looks and the concepts might be totally different but the essence of the game contains the RPG. One of the reasons that we haven’t made golden sun is because there are so many fans of the game and we don’t want to do something half-assed. We want to give it the time it deserves.

        Isn't this enough time...

All I have to say is a big "hmm". Doesn't say anything bad, but it doesn't say "we're making a GS3, yo!!!" either.

omfg. Even a remake for the DS will satisfy me.

There are also many requests to make Shining Force III. At one stage we got a petition with many signatures to make a new Shining Force game. This was sent to Sega, Nintendo and Camelot. There are a lot of people that want us to make that game as well.
Petitions DO help after all...Where's the GS petition?

GL, that was a fantastic find.

Google it, I found a few, but didn't like any of them.

If you find one you like post it here. I'd sign it if you like it.

Yes a quite nice find, doesn't really point to anything apart from the fact that they know how successful the series is, but haven't done anything about it yet. Max should send them a petition :P

Awhile back one of the other GS fansites organized a petition effort which got a large amount of signatures, but these virtual petitions are kinda useless, and I don't know if it was ever even submitted to Nintendo or Camelot.

But it is encouraging to know that they at least have an interest in making it, though it just confirms our long-held belief that they are simply too small to take on additional projects. So we just need to bide our time and maybe eventually they'll get around to it.

I think some of you should revise your thoughts on this subject. It's been known for some time that they want to continue Golden Sun but havn't had the resources and/or ability to reach their goals. I don't know about you guys but I'm happy to wait a long time for a great game instead of getting something less impressive that was rushed. Obviously I get impatient like the rest of you but in the end it's worth it.

I think the problem at the moment, is that Camelot and Nintendo have been busy working on other games, and any openings that they have had to make a GS3 have been too small for Camelot to actually make it a decent game. And like Shugo Takahashi said, they don't want it to be half-assed.

I agree with Max. More than likely, we'll get a GS3. We just have to wait.

Yeah, Nintendo's been working on Tingle's Roze Coloured Rupee Land, so of course they couldn't find time for GS.

Well I'm talking about other games. But yeah, most of the games that they're working on are probably S.H.I.T. (super happy innovative titles). I'm not sure what Camelot is working on right now though.

Promising. It seems like that they atleast have the urge to make the game, and the fact that they want to wait till they have the ability to make it great is even better. I wouldn't mind re-makes for the DS either. That would help get the populace refamiliar with the game. Tying it into a console version would just be awesome too.
