Scrolling around on the internet I found this.

The article basicly says that they can make fruitflies *** by using pheromones to the extent of trying to reproduce with each other.

    Quote

"The GB mutant males treated other males exactly the same way normal male flies would treat a female. They even attempted copulation."

I found it kind of fascinating (sounds a bit harsh, but meh) to find out that scientist actually look at homosexual animals, including humans, in such a manner. Though it's quite natural that your brain determines stuff like being hetero or homosexual, to think that other people can change it (well probably in the near future) is kind of scary. They could make you homosexual, or turn homosexuals back to heterosexuals, which is against the free will thingie, but when you're changed, you don't even care anymore.

The nature neuroscience article thingie is here.

    [UPDATE]

Too much alcohol makes you *** as well. ;)
The videos provided by the site includes mating male flies, looks more like a wierd dance to me though. O well, so you've been warned, alcohol influences your sexual preference.

Dude that's crazy. All these super crazy anti-*** campaigners will be trying to get them to use this on humans. Changing people's sexual orientation is just creepy imo.

          NEW PLAN:

          1. Get secret fruit fly homosexual formula
          2. Find guy I like
          3. Use it on him
          4. Get into a relationship
          5. Walk into the sunset

Ahem, I mean, serious discussion time. I think it would be benificial to all those who don't feel comfortable with their orientation. Personally, I don't think homosexuality is a choice that requires a lot of thinking, it's just one of those choices you don't realize you make. For example, I like guys with dark hair and blue eyes. Okay, so I wasn't FORCED to make that decision, it's just a preference. I know that in the past I've dated guys with blonde hair and brown eyes, and didn't find them quite as attractive. I know I could change that preference, but I think homosexuality is a little more difficult to let go of, and those who want to could find this as an opportunity to help them.

Your whole statement implies that people who are homosexual do not want to be or feel that it is a problem. This is not usually true. It is usually that their enviroment that supress them into think that their ways are wrong. I don't think this drug should be legal to use on humans. Too many people would use it on people that wouldn't want to change sexual orientation(like in my plan for example).

I think it should. This would be great for people who don't want to be ghey. Of course, it would be a choice thing, like abortion.

Hmmm, I think I should make a discusion topic on abortion...

                  No no no no no.

I know SOME people who are homosexual do not want to be. Not ALL. I think I implicitly stated that in my post.

Peace be with you, I am not a homophobe, nor ever will be.

I think my account at YGallery is proof of that. ^^

I don't thjink its a choice anyone would make at the age where they can make the decision themselves. I also think it could be an issue for parents if they force their kids to change their sexual orientation. How old are your friends?

If you look at the bigger picture, this science can give countries a huge advantage in wars. Imagine infecting your enemies with homosexuality on the Battlefield. Their philosophy will be "Make love not war!" for the entire battle. Such an easy win right?

I don't know. Gays might make pretty good soldiers. I don't know about you, but I want the guy covering my ass to think that my ass is kind of cute. Plus we'd get some nice psychotic braveheart charges going on when someone's boyfriend gets shot. "Dear Johns" wouldn't be a problem either, you can bring your partner with you!

Good thing I don't drink and don't plan to.

Kinda wish the article was in layman's terms. I'm too impatient to read the whole thing.

I think my post kind of concludes the interesting part. It's just written very long and very scientific.
