Unfortunately, I have a Dell. It sucks balls, and I continue to have problems with it. Lately it's been the internet. Sometimes it won't connect until I restart it. Then after a while it might quit AGAIN, and I know that my ISP isn't having problems. and the WiFi router's working fine becaus the laptops have no problems.

Same computer, but mine only has one drive and the mouse doesn't have a scroll wheel.

Next time, go with Gateway. You'll get more power and quality for your money.

My PC doesn't have the floppy drive though. I'm planning on getting a laptop, but dunno when (unfortunately, I didn't get it last Christmas!)

Split, Intel is it's own company. It makes CPU's and microchips. Dell makes computers out of computer parts, like CPU's and motherboards from Intel.
If Dell bought Intel, I'd shoot myself. No. Seriously.
And Eugine, the newer Dells aren't NEARLY as bad as the older ones, but even the 2008 models are sub-par in my opinion. At the VERY least, they over price their products by a lot.

Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. Awesome laptop, though I've been eying the new X300 that's soon-to-be-announced.

That's a good quality brand. Bit spendy though.
Isn't the X300 going to have support for WiMAX?

I (by I I mean this household) have 2 dell computers, one 5.5 years old, this one 5 years old. They both run fine (apart from one getting a virus which isn't really Dell's problem is it) and although they are ageing they run fine and are adequete for what I do. I also have a Dell laptop which is 2.5 years old which also runs fine, it gets a bit hot sometimes (but all laptops do) and again, never had a problem with it.
I also have a 4 year old Acer laptop, that runs fine and just gets a bit hot. And I have an Acer media centre pc plugged into the HDTV, its very quiet and also fast. All the aforementioned computers are linked with Netgear 802.11g/g+ wifi and the connection is strong and good enough for streaming media to and from any pc.
At school the computers are Dells and they crash quite often, although it's because people keep breaking them trying to get past the security restrictions and also I have a Toshiba laptop at school (because I'm doing computing AS/A level and need something powerful and off the network for security reasons) which is a good machine albeit with a fairly short battery life (<1.5 hours).
Anyway, rant over. The PC I'm currently on is a Dell Dimension 4550.

Wind Dude, I used that Coolermaster WaveMaster case (the silver version though) for my previous desktop computer. Pretty good case, though some new ones like the Antec P182 have won my favor.
And ROF, nothing wrong with Dell, except that they too often sell computers with inadequate amounts of RAM, which I think is paramount to cheating their customers. Nevertheless, I still recommend Dells to everyone who asks me, and I still think they are one of the best consumer desktop computer manufacturers (and their laptops have gotten alot better lately).

The one thing that I dislike about Dell, is that they overcharge for their hardware. I was configuring an XPS for kicks, and to upgrade to a quad core extreme, they were charging $1600. I found the EXACT same CPU on NewEgg for $900.
Plus, I've had numerous problems with my keyboard. Which was made by Dell.
As for Acers, I haven't heard anything good from them, and their cases suck. Hard.
