Funny, but evil. I hope the site really sends him an xbox.

Also, did you all read the description under the YouTube link? They did get him the Xbox later, this was just his punishment for sneaking a peek at his gift early. Not that it's any better, I still think it's unnecessarily cruel and not funny in the slightest.

Edit: Me111 beat me to it.
The worst part is that my friend was laughing more before I told her that he got the 360 eventually.

I agree with GL, that was pretty cruel.

'We know how much you love to read instruction manuals, so we had the Gameboy taken out just for you!'
At which point I leapt across the table and chainsawed their heads off. Well I would have, if they hadn't told me it was actually at home, charging. :P But still, for a kid that age, being denied something so awesome, that would of scarred him for life regardless of whether he got it in the end.
Which he didn't. The brother lied, according to the original article.

But sure, I can understand the humor from it as well since I don't know like how much the kid has asked for it (a habit from childeren which'll get extremly annoying over the time) or how obsessed the kid was with it, but then again to trick him like this isn't fair at all.
Totally unrelated though but... What the HELL is it with all these kids wanting all these expensive gadgets anyways? Like my little brother for example, 7 years old. Before he got his DS Lite last christmas, all his classmates and friends already got their Wii's and Nintendo DS'es (Lites as well those *******s >_< I hate that old clusmy refrigerator thing of mines -still got more than enough money to buy myself a DS Lite though so it's only my lasiness buuttttttt let's continue-) so naturally being the annoying little kid he his he keeps nagging my parents to buy him a DS lite till he finally got one (while in the while he molestrated my GBA, full time used my GBA SP while still unasked steal my old clumsy refrigerator thing of a DS and even my ****in' Wii, ohh and he erased my Pokémon Gold and Ruby as well... the ***** >_<). Now we have my little sister, 5 years old. Naturally, she never really nags about anything but seeing how effective her youngest older brother can pull it of, now she's doing it as well! Not that I really care or anything but, she uses my GBA SP as it is her own (the most ironic thing is that my lil brother actually SOLD it to her for 3 ****in' euros to get himself and his friends some daymn paprika chips at the supermarket I work at, OHHH and he also sold my very own Golden Sun: The Lost Age to her for 5 euros later... wtf?) and now is a full time nagger for other stuff like a new bicycle when my little bro is getting one while she already HAS 2! Dude really, while observing my siblings I truely feel owned... being the ever grateful oldest of the 4 childeren living in my parents house. O.o; Materialistic little *****es childeren are...

Anyways, yeah childeren can be annoying little naggers at times and even though this isn't the best way to handle it, it sure does confront the kid that he can't just get anything the hell he wants. Still... I wish that somebody in the family could've comfort the boy.

The little kid seems really nice. He coped with the hard news pretty well also. Ah well, I like him. Cute little kid.

i volunteer for the big brothers big sisters program to a little 11 yr old boy whose single mom is a minimum wage house keeper. it always makes me sad when i try to get the kid to go to the park with me to shoot some hoops or kick the soccer ball around and all he wants to do is go to best buy and check out some $300+ gadgets, video games, ps3, or whatever. i swear, his mom must spend half her income on keeping the kid "happy" with all the **** he has. i think most middle class families back in 80s' probably spent $100-200 per year max on ALL gifts for a kid, including bday and xmas. now, $200-300 is the minimum spend per item. even adjusted for inflation, this is still quite excessive. kids are so spoiled these days.
And Engadget giving this kid a free xbox really teaches the kid a bad lesson. Why don't you guys put some $ in a trust, so the kid will have some money to go to college in 10 years?
I want to burn him and laugh at his ashes.
