So I just found out that the PS3 is only region free for PS3 games, but not PS1, and PS2. I was wondering if there was a disc or whatever that will allow me to play imports. I think Diddy called it a freeloader.

Wouldn't it work for the PS3 aswell? If not, then I'm screwed because my PS2 died a couple monthes ago.

You might need a mod chip as well.
You don't need a mod chip. A freeloader is a program that temporarily stores itself in the system's memory, rewriting pieces of code to allow you to do things like playing games from other regions.
You'd only need a mod chip if you wanted to have a 'technically' region free PS3. But I honestly don't trust those things to not break down as soon as you're done installing the chip.
