Yeah. I played Gears of War at a friends and I thought it was good. Way better than Halo at least. :)

Nah. It's a bit... DIFFERENT at first but if you get used to it, it's fun. It's a lot better than just strafing around and shooting the enemy until one of you dies. Actually taking cover is so much better. There's even a bit of strategy to it.

But yeah, it is harder than most of the stuff i'm used to (Halo) so that's why I made this topic.

It's a stunning looking game. Yeah, it's 2 years old but it's still one o the best looking titles on 360.

You probably suck at it because you're used to the Halo series. I.E., run in, shoot, dive for cover, repeat. In Gow, you can't just run in. You usually have to take things a bit slower.

I realised this. I'm used to 1 man army games, where you can plow through hundreds of enemies on your own ( Halo, Half Life) and this is more realistic where you have to dive for cover or you wont last very long at all.

Second act is bloody annoying; step out of the light and you're screwed cuz the kryll will eat you.

Personally I didn't like the storyline, the scenery, the gameplay, the weapons. Most of it, to be honested. Alot of the time it was bleak and repetietive, and the game got increasingly boring after Act 2.

Yeah, I have noticed that gears is pretty much the same environment. It's always grey, and its always wartorn, no matter how much they try to vary it. A little bit of green wouldn't hurt.

AND HOW CANT YOU LOVE THE WEAPONS! I cant think of a better weapon than a gun with a chainsaw bayonet. Heathen, the weapons are the best part of gears! They all have such brutal sounds when you fire them and there's really a sense of power behind them as you see the gun kick back when you fire.

GoW is alright....its a lot better than Halo but it still kind of sucks. Sniping people in the head is always fun though.

lol...I said it kind of sucks.
The main thing I didn't like about it is the 3rd-person view. I think it would feel more natural in a 1st person view. And no, its not that difficult.

Trust me, it wouldn't work in first person. Gears needs to be in third person because of the setting; you have a wider view...it just works in third person.

Its online multiplayer is pathetically boring. You can't go into ranked matches with your friends without having to use an annoying work around, lag issues make the game HORRIBLY unbalanced (more so than Halo) and 4v4 is pretty boring day in and day out.

This is coming from someone who spent many, many, hours playing Gears.

Gears of War 2 looks awesome though. They really fixed the issues that were bugging fans in Gears 1.

Thats why I dont play gears online :\ Split screen campaign ftw! And gears 2 is having 4 player Co-op, which is always fun.
