Mario Kart Wii vs. GTA IV? Laugh and I'll drive-by you in my go-kart.

Mario Kart's cheaper at $50, but GTA IV has more game packed in it. I intend to own both eventually and I'll pick up the game I decide against when I have more monies, which hopefully won't take too long.
I'm leaning a bit towards GTA IV. But I'd like to hear what you guys think. Heck, if you all think I should get Mario Kart and give good reasons why, I might change my mind.
(Split, I know I said GTA is overrated, but IV looks like an improvement)

Oh, if you aren't crazy about Multiplayer (like you and your friends playing together) Mario Kart gets boring quickly imo.

Oh...I misunderstood the topic...lol.
I would go with Mario Kart Wii. The reason why is that its Mario Kart, which is always fun, and this title looks even more innovative. Multiplayer is always a blast, and MKWii has the best online play for the Wii thus far (with the MKWii channel and all that jazz).
GTA is fun too...but it gets way too repetitive. Go get these drugs, go shoot this guy...its boring. The only fun part is driving around killing people...
So yah, go with MKWii.

That's the point I wanted to make, the games are "incompatible" for comparison. Different genres, different gameplay, different demographics.
I will abstain from voting. However, I will say that GTA IV has *unbelievable* depth to it, the likes of which probably has never been achieved in gaming.
To its defense, I do think Mario Kart Wii will be one of the best games in the series to date. Not that it's much different, but that's what preview builds of the kart-racer have indicated.

Ha ha, what?! Jesus no, please don't think I'm that kind of fanboy! As a company, I dislike Nintendo in so many ways(as I do most other companies), but I simply love their games. That's why I buy Ninty consoles.
Does anyone remember when Nintendo sent George Bush a free DS and a game(can't remember which one) for his birthday? I think it was a year/two years ago... Anyhow, I was so pissed off and disgusted with Nintendo when that happened. I have been buying their consoles and games for over ten years and have never owned a rival company console, I have spent so much money on their over-priced products, yet they send a free DS to that idiot?! WW was better than Twilight Princess in most ways. Just saying, my opinion.
On that note, reviews shouldn't be entirely discredited. While I don't argue with a fair amount of them, and I often wish that there were no numerical ratings given to games, they can be a good way to get a general idea of how much polish and development went into a game, and how it plays altogether.

The other point was that my mom doesn't want to see or hear GTA playing the house. Which is fair, she lives here too, and the game IS obscene and vulgar. I actually planned on playing the game while she was out, but whatever. So this means I can wait until classes start to slow down for summer, or summer to start, and try to reach a compromise (my mom is more, er, open-minded I guess than it seems like she is here) or I can wait for the PC version of GTA IV. It's easier to hide violent games on a small monitor than on a big, 50" HDTV...

Gamesradar gave GTA 10 as well. Either they've all been overamazed, or the game really is that good.

MK Wii has killed the series. DEAD.
the only redeeming feature is the online play, and we all know what Nintendo online play is like.
Can you say ****ing broken AI?
get GTA WD, atleast you can picture the civilians to be nintendo fanboys...right before you shoot them in the face.

i was too busy ranting as once A-****ING-GAIN the difficulty in the game is a direct result of the cheating computer, i was never once hit by a blue shell except when i was about to win the race or make a jump, i was never hit by lightning except for whilst doing tight corners or was in the proximity of a jump. So the computer has Clairvoyance added to its arsenal of perfect races and catch up.

They did it in Double Dash, it was annoying from time to time, but I most often win nevertheless. They only cheat in 150cc, and that's how it's in MKWii too. But the point of MKWii is the online multiplayer, and there will be no cheating there.

I completely agree with the 150cc thing, but your attempt to "quote" me kinda failed since you "quoted" me wrong. I never used the word entire.
The main part of MKWii is definitely the online play, but having only that would be... dumb.

This is one of the last big games for the Wii in the foreseeable future. I mean unless they pull a miracle out of thier *** at E3 or Spaceworld. Which they may well do. I mean this IS Nintendo. Good chance we'll see a new DS very soon. But it's looking like a slow year for the Wii and a great time for the PS3 to play some catch up. With HD DVD dead in the water this may be PS3s year to shine.
Now Mario Kart is by no means bad. Shawn brought over his copy at NY Comicon and I enjoyed what I played. Feels much more like Mario Kart DS which is a very good thing. Here's the thing though... We've seen like 3 Karts in the past 5 years. It's starting to feel same old same old. This one like DS is online but, like Brawl it's really a half assed attempt.
Anyway I digress. I am looking forward to playing both titles. However with 15 online modes WITH VOICE and freeroaming deathmatches. I think one may be played more than the other. Just a hunch. Nintendo would have done well to hold on to Mario Kart Wii until Summer and make it shine. Because when competing directly with GTA IV... this is mediocre attempt.
Scott's my hero. Meh. I'll pick up Mario Kart Wii eventually, but other games are coming before it.
