GameTrailers have had this feature which says last year was the best for gaming. I can understand why, but there's a lack of personal experience from me as I'm still backwards in my consoles and without any now current gen consoles. Would you guys agree with them?

I haven't been alive or into gaming long enough to judge particularly well.

Bolded should not be in there, or in COD4's case, that high up there. That list is no good.

These kind of lists are always tainted by the hype surrounding more recent things.

Time for a bit of Halo bashing :o, but people who haven't even played Halo still kiss it's arse because lots of review sites gave it a high score, not because they've played it and experienced it themselves. It's quite annoying actually.

I'm not so sure with Timesplitters, I think it has a good reputation.
If I'd have picked a year I'd have said 98 or 99. It was roughly then I got into gaming. Plus I got my Dreamcast, which seemed amazing at the time.

I'm a little confused that you liked COD4 but you don't want Halo: CE in the list. :o Halo CE really was an awesome game when it was released, way better for it's time than Halo 3. COD4 has good shooting action, but it's generic as shooters come.
You don't like Metal Gear Solid 2? =/

Everyone, thank god, has a different taste. As this list was particularly nintendo fanboy aimed, I disagree on mulitple rankings.
But there are people who like kiddy, to the point of annoying, games in the world. Just accept it and flame them from time to time.

i saw Halo for the turd it is instantly, apparently making a game that incorporates elements from just about everything else in the market makes you semi divine. CoD 4 gets sooo many plus points for trying toi drag FPSs out of the dark ages.
there's a diference between "didnt like" and "not qualifying for best games ever list"

Almost all of the games I played during the N64/PS generation, I'd gladly play again. Also, this was the only time where my dad ever played videogames. He always beat me at DKR, and he almost beat Super Mario 64.
Then when the last generation came out, Halo 2, SSBM, Guitar Hero, Paper Mario: TTYD, Advanced Wars 2, and Golden Sun came out. I still want to play Kingdom Hearts and some FF game other than FFIII DS, but I never bought/recieved a PS2.
There's some jewels in this generation, but other than a select few GC titles, the GC sucked. The PS2 had some good new franchises, but they recieved sequel upon repetitive sequel. Any PSone franchises that carried over recieved too many sequels as well. The Xbox had a few good games, but I haven't played enough of them to accurately judge.
With the current gen, I've had a lot of fun with the titles so far, but they lose my interest too quickly. It's just the same thing that's been done a hundred times over. SMG was awesome for the first month or so, but I haven't played it since. SSBB is still a great game, but only when there's someone to play against. I haven't touched it in weeks. FE:RD I got stuck in, and I'm hoping to get back to sometime, but it's been the least dissapointing so far. I haven't played it since January/early February.
Halo 3 is overhyped. Fun, but it's like Halo 2 with better graphics and more weapons. I want to play Portal and Ratchet&Clank: Tools of Destruction, but my PC sucks, I'm low on cash, and there's no way I'll be getting a PS3 until the next gen comes out, and even then, probably not.
AW:DS was fun, if too easy, but it's still fun to play even now. I've never really lost interest in it. FFIII DS was fun, but like all RPG's, it got stale around the end. Contact, which I had barely gotten to play before I lost my DS, was awesome. I can't wait 'till I can pick it up again. Magical Starsign is a great RPG, and I didn't get the chance to finish it before I lost my DS. I'd gladly play through it again.
Great DS titles, waiting on some great console titles.
