Keep an open mind! Good lord, gamers are always complaining of wanting to see "innovation" or at least something different, and when Nintendo tries to go for exactly that, you have to get upset over it?
Secondly, it has long since been confirmed that Nintendo is working on the new Zelda. Since even before the release of Twilight Princess.
And finally, do you think those same "resources" that went into Wii Fit could be used to create a Zelda game? The development team, work involved, production quality, are all completely different, with people who specialize in different areas and different focuses. They're not machine parts that can be shifted around for other games, the development team is chosen to tailor to the need of the specific title.
About the only thing that Wii Fit and a Zelda game would have in common is that they were both Miyamoto's vision. Oh, and they both came from Nintendo.
-end rant-
That said, I'm very curious about trying out Wii Fit. A family friend in particular wants us to try it out in the coming week, she said that while some exercises are gimmicky (i.e. jogging), the Yoga exercises and especially the posture/balance exercises are the real deal.

How much does it cost? I can't really get a definitive price.

I'm with WD. I'd rather see a new actual game. All the fat nerds could try riding a bike or...chasing after bagel-bites hanging in front of them from a stick tied to their back instead.

Anyway...Wii Fit looks cool for people who need to lose some weight, and I think it's pretty cool that people are doing it...but I'm not going to get this game, because I don't really need it xd

What exactly does it...exercise? Fitness or strength or endurance.
Interesting that your Doctor of all people prescribed it though.

I'm with you. I'm refusing to get anymore "non-games" simply because Nintendo is putting real gamers second because of them.
And why the **** do they ALWAYS have to be developing at least one Zelda at all times?! Why don't they make something new instead of using the same, completely intact formula over and over again. Because no matter how much potential the Wii offers, we all know this new Zelda will be exactly the same thing just with Wii controls that are slightly better than they were in TP.

Plus, for the same reasons stated above. Though it is enticing....

If i had a wii, wasnt extremely allergic to exercise and effort, didnt have a multigym in my house and wanted to spend silly money on something that does the same thing as conventional exercise i'd get this for sure!

So here you're saying that Nintendo puts gamers second...

That said, Wii Fit is apparently being allocated to Europe mostly so that Nintendo could take advantage of the strong euro and make a greater profit.

GL, please. I never said Nintendo is making only non-games, but even the biggest fanboy has to admit that they're paying less attention to real gamers than casual ones.
Are you telling me you would be content if the only real games Ninty made were Zeldas? Because I kinda get the feeling Nintendo feels the same way...

First off, don't call me a "fanboy". I thought Twilight Princess was lacking, both as a game and as a Zelda title. If you've noticed in the System Wars topic, I personally think that Sony has the better strategy out of all the console makers.
Secondly, Nintendo is diverting its resources to casual games, but you're ignoring everything Nintendo has provided us in less than two years of the console's release - nearly every single major franchise has seen an entry, and all are (arguably) better and all are (without a doubt) far more successful. Just because it's the first time Nintendo or any other console manufacturer has ever invested heavily in casual games doesn't mean that they're neglecting gamers - they're balancing both types.
It's expected that most people here would dislike it. I certainly am just curious about trying out Wii Fit, but I would never purchase it because it's simply not tailored to me nor is it something I enjoy as much as a "real game".
Speaking of which, back to Brawl and Corruption for me.

That's uh, not true. Pikmin 3, Zelda Wii, Animal Crossing, Wario Land Shake, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Kid Icarus Wii, and Fatal Frame 4 are all in development (Fatal Frame 4 is actually coming out pretty soon). Plus games that are kept hidden. At E3 all the games that aren't "non-games" as you call them (which makes no sense, because how could a game be not a game?), will be revealed. So you can't ***** about Nintendo only catering to the "non-gamers" because they have 3 "non-games" out.
And to answer your other question...Nintendo only makes one Zelda at a time because it's one of their high selling points and they don't want to mess it up. And plus, there's only one Shiggeru Miyamoto (yeah, fck you Ejji Aonouma).

Day of Crisis and Fatal Frame aren't first-party anyway.

Do you think Nintendo is going to not allow devs to make games? That's not the way it works anymore...
And Nintendo is publishing those two games, Split.

Nintendo is a first party publisher, incase you didn't know that. You probably didn't know this either...but Nintendo now owns the rights to the Fatal Frame franchise, so even though Fatal Frame 4 is being developed by Suda 51 and published by Nintendo, it's still first party, like Metroid Prime. Nintendo owns Monolith, which is developing Disaster. Not too sure if Nintendo owns the rights to Disaster, but it's more second party than first party anyway.

Blue, and anyone else that has it, how is the build of the Wii Fit board, and how sensitive is it in measuring your balance/weight? I'm really curious.

Exactly. Sorry if you misunderstood me, GL.
And don't get me wrong, I don't completely disagree with what Nintendo is doing. Heck, I still call myself a Ninty fanboy, so that's got to mean something.
And Zeypher, I'm calling them non-games because that's what Nintendo calls them. -__-
Anyhow, back to Wii Fit and the balance board. I read very recently that Nintendo stated they wanted to use the board for the new Zelda, to completely control Link's moves. That should prove interesting... More interesting than it being used to test your weight, at any rate.

Is that your phrase of the week Aqua?
I've just noticed this topic. Wii Fit seems to be pretty popular over here, so I guess Nintendo's doing well with their whole 'target a wider audience thing.'
As for the idea of using the board in other games, a trailer for Rayman Raving Rabids 3 (the ripoff of Warioware that makes me lose respect for Rayman that I had during his platforming days) suggested a balance board could be used in it.
