Today Square-Enix opened a countdown site which teases fans about Squares promised remake of classic SNES RPG Chrono Trigger. Like all the classic final fantasy remakes and Dragon Quest remakes this gonna be on the DS

I played the original and it was fantastic. Keeping the SNES look would probably be for the best, although updated graphics might not be too bad. I just hope this is true.

Well if they di as good of a job with the graphics in FF III, I don't see why it would be a problem with CT. However, I've never played the game, so I don't know whether it would be better as a 2D sprite, or 3D.

I'm not surprised that Laharl was the first to post this. I actually heard about it earlier today and I say that I'm excited. I never got to play the original so this will be awesome for me. ^^

Ahh, so it's sticking with the 2D? That's fine, though I'm hoping Square-Enix will at least smooth out the graphics and polish them a little more, but otherwise not going 3D will definitely keep its charm.

Hmm Chrono Trigger? I've seen the game before but I've never played it, so I'm guessing this is going to be one of the best games for DS then? So what is it about? I remember playing Chrono Cross but not Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Trigger is in many people's opinions one of the best SNES games of all time. It is also Chrono Cross' prequel. You think CC is confusing now, play CT, and you will realise why CC is fucked.

But that's the thing, me saying that doesn't ruin anything. Play the games and you'll realise that.

I could explain why it doesn't ruin anything, but then I'd ruin everything about both games. So yeah, play them.

By the way, once the fight against Dark Serge occurs, and moreso after the FATE battle, all coherent storytelling in this game goes straight to hell. You will be going 'HUH?' about every five minutes near the end, especially when they do a huge plot dump right before the final boss. And if that's not confusing enough, the people who reveal the final plot are Marle, Chrono and Lucca from Chrono Trigger, who are in kid form and are technically suppose to be dead (well, at least Lucca). Basically 85% of the game's plot is discussed in the last 10 minutes of the game, while the other 15% needed to be explained during the 50+ hours you played this game. Chrono Trigger made more sense, and that involved multiple time periods. And while you're Lynx, you're really Serge and while you're fighting Serge, he's really Lynx, who is really your father.

EDIT-Oh, wait, must put spoiler tags for Blue over here. Even though by the time he gets around to playing CT, and then CC he won't remeber a thing I said because he'll be so confused.

I took Kid and Guile, I save Kid, although it was annoying xD Did you save Kid? Who's in your party? Mine ended up been: Serge, Guile and Norris xD

I took Nikki, and didn't save Kid the first time, and did the second, and then did the third. Had to play through 3 times to get all the characters.

Not saving Kid allows you to get Glenn, who has a double tech with Serge. Also, he can equip both of the Einlazers, which makes him fucking tough. Him, Serge, and Gyrobic make a kick ass team.

Have you fought Flea, Slash, and Ozzy?
