How Ironic for Internet explorer to be least amount of people to update it, well anyways its about people not updating their browsers therefore more cyber crime.

The average windows user doesn't use Firefox. The average user also doesn't usually update their programs unless prompted to by Windows or the program itself. In contrast, slightly more advanced users are more likely to use Firefox, and/or update their programs regardless of prompting. That's why IE is the least updated in terms of the percentage of it's userbase.

Don't IE updates come through Windows Update?

Pretty much. I don't think it's as immediate as Firefox's, though.

Then you have malware and/or spyware. Garunteed. (if you're running on Windows)

              Free firewall:
              http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/cat...ee_firewall.jsp

              Free Anti-virus:
              http://free.avg.com/...us-free-edition

They're better than nothing. Install AVG frst and have it scan your computer. When it's all finished, then install Zone Alarm.

Maybe on Vista they do but if you are using a pirate copy, Microsoft has means by which they can get to know it when using the Windows Update app. and then one day they'll come knocking on your door...
Therefore the use of it is strongly discouraged = screw IE and install Opera like all normal people do.

I haven't tried Opera yet. Can't be worse than Safari. =/

Anyway, I'm running a pirated copy of XP Pro on my server (which actually has been out of commission for wuite some time now), and I've never ran into any problems regarding automatic updates.

                    I'm not a thief, I'm just poor. :P When I get money I'll buy a legal copy.

Or you could just search for pirated copies of the executables. It only checks the OS if you download the updates from Microsoft.

To be honest, I find them to be pretty much incomparable; they each have their own draws and flaws. I only use IE7 because I'm more used to the interface.

MS doesn't check the OS, it checks the key used to activate the OS. You probably got an outdated key that doesn't pass the certification test. It'll activate Windows, but the Genuine Product thingy or whatever will ***** about it.
