    Tournament has been canceled.

Linear is the winner by default, having secured the most points in the first round.

    ---

    [EDIT]
So far, only one person has advanced to the semifinals.
It appears that there are a few people who still have not completed all their matches. I am extending the deadline for these matches by another few days. Please try to get your group stages completed as soon as you can.

(go here to find out which matches you have left)

    ---

All right, the first ever GSSF Brawl tournament has begun!

    http://www.goldensun-syndicate.net/forum/i...showtopic=12483

If you registered, please check for your assignments in the group phases. Good luck to all! :)

P.S. I also recommend saving replays of your matches, if you and your opponent agree, so that we can post them up on YouTube for all to see.

You have to save to SD Card, then hook SD Card to computer and transfer files.

You can't transfer replays onto your computer. All that it does is record the buttons you pushed during your gameplay. You would have to record it another way.

well that makes sense, becuz i recorded sumthin on my sd card, and when i hook it up to my pc... i didnt see any videos... looks like we really need a video capture card or a camera for this one. Im gonna record my matches with my camera from now, hopefully the quality wont be too bad...

Then how do people upload picture-perfect quality Brawls onto YouTube? I highly doubt something like this was taken with a camera. (even when it shows the selection and loading screens, it doesn't quite seem like a camera)

Or just plug it in directly, if you have a capture card.

So anyone have a capture device on them? I'd like to at least get the Final recorded in video format.

If it pans out right my guess would be that the final would include Blue and Linear.

My friend has a capture thing built into his HP computer, but it's not on a seperate card, so I doubt it'd be al that great. I could have him haul it over here again so I can try it out.

Yeah, that's what I figured I'd do. I'm not quite sure how it would work though. I'd have to find some kind of A/V splitter that allowed me to hook up to the computer and the TV at the same time, because I'm not sure if his computer would be able to capture all the frames and stream the video at the same time.

The rest of the parts for my new rig are comming within a few days though, so maybe I can splice his capture thingy into my new rig temporarily. I dunno.

You'd only need to record the match at about 320x240, which is YouTube quality. It would be better to upload the file directly though, otherwise you might not be able to see very clearly.

It's difficult to organise something like this. After all, everyone lives in different places and timezones.

I am sorry it just seems like I haven't said this in enough places just yet.

I am the only one to finish all three of my matches.
and it was before the deadline.

You should be stoked it got this far, I guess, you seemed to have it really really well thought out.. But the time-zones are terrible, aren't they? :\

Not exactly like you can have a tournament which involves much skill with brawl online.

Lag is painful, but it still involves a lot of skill. Those who win 3-0 are obviously better than their opponents, wouldn't you say?

Anyway, we should have a tournament for The Conduit when it's out. :!:

It's too bad that not everyone finished their matches though.

Not really, when people randomly fall off of stages, moves randomly fail (Fox's whackING SIDE B!!!) and people get trapped under stages, that doesnt involve much skill. Or when you cannot adapt to your oppponent because of lag (Or even the my momtiness of Brawl), that doesnt invovle skill.

Melee with moar characters, moar stages, better graphics and a good online would have been much better than this. But hey, at least we got stickers!

And I don't suck! It was lag! Sometimes the animations is really slow, for example when i was playing Zeph I fell off and I was randomly rolling then stood up then died xD

Given the notice that a generally the neutral stages are simple to go underneath, there's really no trouble to counter as they make their way to the other stage. If you actually know how to keep them off (ex. meteor smashing or edge guarding/hogging), it's a punishment to go underneath the stage if you know how to knock them out the instant they come back.

Lag issues - if your going to wifi, then you would obviously know there's going to be some sort of lag. (Even green and blue connections give me at least ONE lag spike) I don't know how came up with the notion of, "If you go off the stage then you suck." I have my rare moments that I just so happen to teleport right off the stage due to lags.

On another note, wifi battles (in my opinion) is just another show of training. Since there's always some type of lag, it helps me predict things on a slower pace. Or at least, I noticed whenever I place someone on wifi and the same person irl. Overall, there's just no sense of making excuses that you know that may as well happen.
