Linear is the winner by default, having secured the most points in the first round.
---
[EDIT]
So far, only one person has advanced to the semifinals.
It appears that there are a few people who still have not completed all their matches. I am extending the deadline for these matches by another few days. Please try to get your group stages completed as soon as you can.
(go here to find out which matches you have left)
---
All right, the first ever GSSF Brawl tournament has begun!

If you registered, please check for your assignments in the group phases. Good luck to all! :)
P.S. I also recommend saving replays of your matches, if you and your opponent agree, so that we can post them up on YouTube for all to see.

You can't transfer replays onto your computer. All that it does is record the buttons you pushed during your gameplay. You would have to record it another way.

well that makes sense, becuz i recorded sumthin on my sd card, and when i hook it up to my pc... i didnt see any videos... looks like we really need a video capture card or a camera for this one. Im gonna record my matches with my camera from now, hopefully the quality wont be too bad...

So anyone have a capture device on them? I'd like to at least get the Final recorded in video format.

The rest of the parts for my new rig are comming within a few days though, so maybe I can splice his capture thingy into my new rig temporarily. I dunno.

Good on you for organizing such a tournament, GL. It's a shame people didn't exactly give it there all. You should be stoked it got this far, I guess, you seemed to have it really really well thought out.. But the time-zones are terrible, aren't they? :\

Not exactly like you can have a tournament which involves much skill with brawl online.

Anyway, we should have a tournament for The Conduit when it's out. :!:
It's too bad that not everyone finished their matches though.

Melee with moar characters, moar stages, better graphics and a good online would have been much better than this. But hey, at least we got stickers!

How much have you actually played Brawl online? The only people who fall off the stages are the ones that suck.

Yeah I have no idea why that happened, I also did that when i was play Zeph,

And I don't suck! It was lag! Sometimes the animations is really slow, for example when i was playing Zeph I fell off and I was randomly rolling then stood up then died xD

It's like accidentally nading yourself in an FPS. Moot point is moot.

And with the lag of Brawl online it doesnt really matter how good you are when those things happen.

I think GL should have kept it open. Given time, everybody would do their matches... eventually.

Lag issues - if your going to wifi, then you would obviously know there's going to be some sort of lag. (Even green and blue connections give me at least ONE lag spike) I don't know how came up with the notion of, "If you go off the stage then you suck." I have my rare moments that I just so happen to teleport right off the stage due to lags.
On another note, wifi battles (in my opinion) is just another show of training. Since there's always some type of lag, it helps me predict things on a slower pace. Or at least, I noticed whenever I place someone on wifi and the same person irl. Overall, there's just no sense of making excuses that you know that may as well happen.

It's just that I very rarely see people fall of stages. I fall off a lot more than anyone else I know, and I know I'm not all that good.

I don't play online too much, but when I play with friends I rarely see anybody falling of the stage by accident.
