Its a book in a series of vampire books. I don't see what the big deal is either cuz I hear the writing is horrible.
Oh, and, Edward is hot. xD

Edward is damm fine, stop denying that to yourself. Embrace his vampire godliness!
*cough*
In all seriousness, the books are lame and dreadfully long and anything which I did like about the books were taken away in the movie by the plank like manner the cast acted (seriously bella just infuriated me, she was already a pretty dreadful "heroine").
The musical score was beautiful though, as were some of the shots too. I think it's just all too easy to see why girls aged 13-15 love it and I'm just too old (gasp, growing up? never!) to see the thrill of it all...

I was only able to get to the three hundred pages of Twilight because I hoped something would happen. And then I gave it back to my schoolmate with a 'this is the most boring book ever' to go with.
The movie was fine enough, I guess, but it was not able to fix the 'when, how, why, what' surrounding Bella's and Edward's romance.
PS: From what I hear from my sisters, Bella's a slut in the other three books.

The hype over this film is really superfluous and ridiculous. All the fangirls go around proclaiming it as "best film evaaar omg I love edward i want his children and we can go be vampires 2getha". They really need to get out more and read/ watch more books/films because there are far, FAR better works out there than this. The film was mediocre and badly written, and the book was average. Nothing special, just everybody reacting to the hype far too much. It's ridiculous.
