Somebody found an interesting note on another forum.

Nice observation there. I wonder if Camelot will remember that line and include something related to it in GSDS?

I think that it won't have any influence on any game character in GS DS. It was probably just a loose sentence with no meaning for the future. They probably didn't even know at that time that there would be a new GS.

Uhhh I dont know. I mean somewhere, I cant remember where exactly, Camelot said that the first 2 Golden Sun games where just leading to the real story. I'll try and find where they said it. So I dont know they might do something with that scene. Who knows what Camelot have up their sleeves. We'll just have to wait and see.

Seriously, the day I heard that GSDS was coming out I grabbed TLA out of the closet and did the same discovery (believe it or not). Would be fun if that Takeru would actually be in GSDS, another relation with the originals is only a good thin for as far as I'm concerned.

Ehhhh, I dunno. I'm pretty sure Camelot did know they were making another one, they just didn't know when. Golden Sun made Nintendo a handsome dollar, so Nintendo wasn't going to let it get away from them. I just think Nintendo wasn't putting up the money for it until recently.

So, I'm replaying Golden Sun. Already beat GS1 and now playing TLA. Looking forward to GSDS, cause the games haven't lost their charms at all through the years. I think.

So anyway, we know that the characters in GSDS are gonna be the descendants of the playable characters in the GBA games right? So now I've been playing TLA, and I came to a pretty interessting Mind Read thought:

As this Takeru's parents are most likely Earth adepts like his parents, and most likely the new main character looking like Isaac is also a Earth Adept... I think we'll maybe get another party like in TLA.

So Takeru it is... I doubt that the creators didn't do this on purpose.

As far as I'm aware, GSDS was an afterthought from the original two games, although I could be wrong. However, I dont think they're going to be drawing too much from the other game as most things were left pretty tied up and drew to a close with few loose ends. If anybody is going to be drawn from it, it'll no doubt be Eoleo, Brigg's son as he was quite involved in the plot.

Well this mind read has been speculated upon since long before GSDS was ever released; most people used it as proof that there would be a new one. It's possible that Takeru will at least be a friendly NPC, lord knows if he'll be playable.


@Caael: Camelot has been saying all along that they've wanted to do GS3, they've just been without the time or money.

What others have said. They weren't planning another GS at the time so anything within those games is meant to develop the plot, characters and world of those games.

But that doesn't mean they won't refer back to these games and bullshit something to make it look like they planned the story all along :joy:

I'd like to quote this to accentuate how true this statement really is.


Camelot has said time and time again that they've always intended on making a GS3, so who's to say that the loose ends they put into GS2 weren't intended to be built off of?
