So far, the mole has been spot on every time. Not a single one of his predictions have been false, so I'm inclined to believe this is the truth.


Either way, it's good to hear that the PS3 is going to drop in price (and that the PS3 is going to be coming), and that the 360 Elite will drop in price to take the Pro model's place.

Don't know about the PS3, but the 360 Elite will be dropping in price to match the 360 Pro, and the 360 Pro is going to be phased out.

Basically, the Elite will be taking it's place.

Ars Technica's reliable tipster has informed the tech news site that Sony will cut the PS3's price as well as introduce the 120GB PS3 Slim this fall.

According to the tipster, Microsoft plans to phase out the midlevel $299 Xbox 360 Pro in July or August, with the publisher introducing a number of attractive software bundles to help move systems. Once supply has sold through, Microsoft will essentially replace the 60GB Pro with the 120GB Elite model, cutting the price of its top-tier system to $299 in early September, the source said.

Must be emphasized that it's still speculation, albeit from a source with an apparently decent record.

Supposed "leaked" images of the final design. Signs are pointing to Sony revealing the PS3 Slim either at the GamesCom convention next week, certainly by the Tokyo Game Show in September.

I'm not fond of either one myself, including the original 'leak' in factory production from E3. It's a great idea from Sony, so it'll be interesting to see what they come out with officially.

Poor design though; the front tray takes up way more space than it needs to, and it still looks like a PS3 sliced in half. Hoax/beta model, perhaps?
