I've recently been dipping my toes into photography and figure collection. I decided to write reviews for each figure I purchased which was a great excuse to work on my writing, photography and overall knowledge on the hobby.
Kicking off this series of reviews I have planned is a Rei Ayanami figure which shows her tricking out on a BMX. I'm not a big fan of merchandise that's pretty much out of character compared to the anime in question, but I had to pick this up when I saw it as I'm a big Rei fan plus the BMX makes this particular figure stand out.
So, peep this link and let me know what you think.

It costs between £15-£20 as the review stated, and this price range is where most figures of this kind of quality end up being. The seam going across the top of her head was my biggest gripe, it really gets up in your face when you're admiring the overall figure. Aside from that, it's actually quite decent for the price, especially the BMX.

I thought it was a little odd that you didn't state that you usually don't like merchandise that is out of character in your review like you did here. Nice review anyway. Bit of a shame about the panties, though.

point taken, though i've seen (and own) some quality stuff from that price range but at the same time i've seen some real shyte. But yeah an interesting figure but subpar by Rei standards

This is mainly because Zetzio's review format is to keep it short and to the point, so I can't really explain every single detail and opinion, just the make or break stuff, so knowing that people aren't going to base their purchase decision on whether or not I prefer figures who are out of character, I didn't feel the need to add that to the final review. After all, anyone who looks at the photos for this figure will know if they are okay with Rei being out of character or not.

I'd love to see some examples for your argument, as I personally found this to be one of the better figures I've seen for the price range. Also, which aspects of Rei did you notice which made you feel the craftsmanship was 'shoddy'? I'd like to know if you noticed some things I may have missed.
So, what do you guys think of the photos I took?

I actually did try this, and wasn't very happy with the results personally. To be fair however, I didn't try it properly so I think I will give that another shot in the future since I also want to experiment with lighting. I recently bought a table lamp for help on my hobby kits and also for my photography, and I used this lamp during the photo session but ultimately felt that the ones taken via the camera flash were more presentable. Good call though.

Stem and front wheel mis-aligned, high offset forks, slammed seat..
That's not flatland, that's a k-mart bike, my friends..
