If you kill someone in real life, there's consequences. Someone has just lost a friend, a family member, etc. and you yourself have to face the consequences of murder. In a video game, rarely are there any truly meaningful consequences, even in the game's own world.
This game attempts to make in-game actions have real life consequences. You can shoot aliens for points, but every time you kill an alien, a random file (any file) on your computer is deleted permanently. If the player is killed, the application deletes itself.
Damn hippies.
And then it deleted system32

Same.
If you could tweak what it's allowed to delete it could be a fun way of cleaning up lotsa unwanted files.
I think it's message is kinda flawed. Games and gamers aren't really the same as they used to be; most gamers want context, WHY they are doing what they're doing in the game. It needs to have meaning.
I also hope the creator is aware that he made what could become a very effective trojan horse. Just hack it to remove the warnings, and there you go.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The irony would be delicious.

I want to make friends with someone I hate, and then make them play it on their home computer and try and beat the highscores.
Dear god I want to do it.
Dear god I want to do it.

when asked why he would take part in making such an atrocity, the lead developer simply replied, "derp derp derp"
