On a lighter note, I'm going to be playing Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City soon enough. :)

IF I were to ask for games, it'd be AC2 and DA.

Like a knife in your heart
Christmas is interesting
How it tears you apart
Christmas is interesting
Like a stick in your eye
It's so freaking interesting
That it might make you cry
I don't want any gaems.

I'd really like to build a whole new computer with Intel's Core i7 or something, but I don't have the funds. Nor will I for quite some time, even if I do get a job.
Aside from computer parts, the 60GB PS3 at my local gamestop would be nice. Or maybe a 360 Elite.

Ultra x3 1600W PSU
Asus Rampage Extreme
Intel 2 core quad Q9650
2x Dominator GT 4gb DDR3 2GHz
2x Diamond ATI Raedon 4870X2
Sound Blaster x-fi Titanium Champion Fatality Series
Huppage WinTV-HVR2250 Dual TV Tuner
2x Plextor Blueray Combo Drive
2x WD Velociraptor 300GB HDD
Sabrent CRW-FLP2(Floppy Combo Drive, 'cause I'm hardcore)
Thermaltake VH600L Armor with Liquid Cooling(Case)
That's it except for fans(9) and thermal paste...
Uhh, Santa(Daddy and Mommy, and G'Parents) I hope I can see a lot of boxes under the tree and that there is alot of assembly required.
P.s: I hope I dont bankrupt you cause it is gonna cost $4000

It's not like the Q9650 has gotten all that much cheaper now that the Core i7 and i5 parts are out.
The Core i7 920 performs a lot better for $100+ less.
A pair of HD5870's will also outperform your HD4870X2's, for a comparatively small premium (you're dealing with pretty high prices here, after all).
and BD-R capable drives aren't worth the money. You're better off just spending $50 on one that can just read Blu-ray discs, instead of $200 on one that's write capable.
Also, Velociraptors are practically meaningless now that we have really good SSD's available on the market. But really, a pair of WD Caviar Black drives in RAID0 will give you plenty of performance. If you want redundancy, get a third and put 'em in a RAID5 instead, or just get 4 and put them in a RAID1+0 or someting.
Oh yeah, don't mess with water cooling unless you really know what you're doing. Their a pain to maintain.

Otherwise; socks, undies, WoW time, BC (+WotLK?), and bike parts. And I'll be happy..

The graphics cards, network card, and sound card are arguably the best on the market. And im sure that 8GB of DDR3 at 2GHz can handle anything. As for why I chose a Velociraptor, it is more astectically pleasing.

As for your reasoning behind the motherboard, picking one almost solely based on it's slot layout is kind of ridiculous, There's no point in having all those slots if your system isn't capable of realizing the potential of the cards inserted into those slots.
That being said, and while I prefer Gigabyte over ASUS, this board should do you fine:

The LGA 1156 based CPU's are also more technologically advanced than the LGA 1366 based ones. The Core i7 800 series is hardly mainstream, despite what some people might say. Those CPUs will, without a doubt, run circles around that Q9650 you had in mind.
[EDIT] Looks like Gigabyte has an X58 board that will work too:

And here's a P55 Gigabyte motherboard that will also work:

You just need to search a bit harder. And the chord on the Hauppauge TV tuner looks to be long enough for you to move the expansion bracket a few slots away from where the card is installed.

I also already got what I wanted for christmas--a plane ticket back east. Traveling by myself, being across the country without my parents in a place where I may actually get snow? Best. Gift. Ever. ;)
