1. Bigger screen
2. More comfortable for people like me who have hands much bigger than Japanese people's.
I might get this model of the DSi when/if I get one for the latter alone, if the price isn't much steeper. Not sure about bigger (again) screens though... I don't think Nintendo adjusts their game's resolution to the bigger screens.

Your point 2 is fair, but why bump up the size, as ihk hinted at, it wouldn't fit in your pocket. It's a handheld console, not a Wii.
Why can't they just focus on the next handheld instead of milking parents money.

I dunno, it's not a huge different. 4 inch screen from 3.25. It's just a money grab.

The key market here is elder gamers and people with fashion blindness. :0
I'm not sold on the idea. The face looks awkward the way it's been spaced out, and there's something weird about those rounded corners. Though that's all just nitpicking; I just prefer my devices to be crampingly tiny. In its favor, however...
- Extended battery life
-> Minimum brightness: 13-17 hrs (DSi 9-14 hrs, Lite 15-19 hrs)
-> Maximum brightness: 4-5 hrs (DSi 3-5 hrs, Lite 5-8 hrs)
- Two styluses, one short and one chunky
- Preinstalled (!) with three apps; DS Easy Dictionary and two Brain Training titles
- Gameboy Advance slot

If you were to have bought the original DSi the only worthwhile thing you're missing out on is the improved battery life. If there were some new, nifty feature that was made with this model then you'd have some decent basis to complain. This is exactly the kind of thing Apple does with the iPod and nobody seems to complain about that anymore. Nintendo deserves some hate, but not over this soo stop being pricks.

I don't know why they changed back the speakers though.

Now, after thinking about it more, I agree with Wind Dude. Yes, Nintendo may be "milking the cash cow", but in the end this is just another option for the DS. It's not meant to replace the previous models but to exist alongside them for people who might be interested.
If you already have a DS Lite or DSi, then this shouldn't make a difference.
If you don't have a DS and have been thinking about getting one, now you have one more version to consider.
