I decide to undertake this project several weeks ago. The plan is to chop up an existing model and convert up an Eldar Autarch themed around the Howling Banshees Warrior Aspect. After looking around for something suitable I found this:

The Dark Elf Hag Queen model from GW's Fantasy Range.
So, I placed an order and two days ago it arrived. Midnight's a good a time to start working as any, right?

Here is the model as it arrived. I trimmed off all the flash, and gave the model a black wash so you could see the detail I'm about to scrape off.

I warmed up the Dremel Tool and exercised my misogyny grinding away the face, stomach and chest details.

I then got out the saw and chopped off the arms. At a later date, I plan on replacing them with arms from a plastic kit. But I won't get those for a while, unfortunately. I also decided to grind off part of the detail of on the knees and waist.

With all the mutilation finished, I mixed together some greenstuff to finally try my hand at some sculpting. I've never done anything like this before, so please bear with me.
I tried to do a mask, but it didn't come out so well. The rest I'm pretty happy with though. I fixed the stomach up, added some screaming mouths to the knees and gave the lady a skirt.

    More stuff to come tomorrow.

I was kept busy today, so I didn't get much done.

I decided I didn't like the stomach too much and re-did it with water-soluble greystuff.

The godawful face on it right now is just a very very rough placeholder.

I found the greystuff much more enjoyable to work with, and am happy with the end result.

I ended up with a lot of left over greystuff, so I decided to bulk up the back of the head and get some very rough hair in place.

Since I don't have much of the Autarch to show, here's a Drop Pod.

I won't be able to do any more work until next week, unfortunately. But by then I'll have some actual Howling Banshees in my possession which I can use to get the face looking proper.
If anyone reading this hasn't been terribly impressed by what I've done so far, you should know I fancy myself a much better painter than modeler.

Schoolwork, bro time with dad and more interesting projects have left me little time for this.

I'm focusing on the headpiece first, since it's the simplest part of the head to do. I'm taking it in tiny bits so I don't screw it up. Once the greystuff dries I'll start shaving it down into a shape closer resembling a standard banshee helm.
