As reported by the Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK, in the recent financial results briefing (PDF) from Nintendo, Golden Sun DS is listed as slated for release in the United States and Europe in '2010'.

Curiously, it lists a 'TBA' release date for GSDS in Japan; as Camelot is based in Japan, it would be most logical for the game to be released there first, followed by international releases several months later to allow time for translations/localizations. Three months elapsed between the original Golden Sun's release in Japan and its release in North America, with The Lost Age having a nine month separation.

The listing use the title "Golden Sun DS (Temp.)", implying that that will not be the official title upon launch.

We're unlikely to get more information before E3 2010 on June 15-17, but I'll keep on the lookout and be sure to post the latest news as it comes in.

Nice news all around. Curious that we have a 2010 date for the West and no date for the East. Maybe Golden Sun has a larger fanbase here? More likely we'll see the dates change, in my opinion.

I expected Golden Sun DS to be a working title rather than a permanent one. I think this also smashes the rumor that this is a remake. The characters are new, guys, they're not Isaac, Mia and Garet. :)

Good news, good news. I won't mind a 2011 release honestly. I am way behind on games now.

That quote is just recycling a press release from last year, which at the time was confusing because there were multiple different plot summaries being circulated. I don't trust any of the previously announced information, and am waiting for this year's E3 to learn the true story.

The first plot summary I heard was that they descendants, which still seems most likely to me. I'd much rather it be a cast with little to no relation to the previous protagonists, but what can you do.

The fact that in all likelihood I will actually have a DS by the time this game comes out makes me even more excited for it. Great news all around! Can't wait for E3.

I'll feel more comfortable about this once we see a working build of the game at E3. Nintendo is known for making changes to their release schedules, however unlikely it may be.

Still satisfying news, but I would just like to see it substantiated with some actual material, you know?

Good news. Just hope this means we also get it this year, and not only Japan. Wouldn't mind a delayed release date actually, as I want this game to be GOOD.

I'm surprised it's still slated for a 2010 release, considering how we've heard NOTHING about the game since it was announced at the last E3. Personally, though, I do want them to reveal as little information as possible...I want as much of the game as possible to be a surprise.

Either way, I cannot wait for this year's E3. After their blunder in '08, last year was a sexy as hell showing for Nintendo. I have higher expectations now.

Agree, we've heard absolutely nothing for almost a year now. Besides, '2010' is the same release date they gave us at the time. It's good news to see the game on the release list, but for me it's nothing more than a confirmation they're still working on it, really.

As far as I'm concerned, any news is good news when it comes to this.

I'm really looking forward to E3, and I might even have a job before then too, which means I might have a DS by the time it comes out. :D
