The Common Room was a bad call.

I just watched the Digimon movie last night, so I'm nostalgia-ing like a motherfucker.
What are some of the things you loved as a kid?

My pre teenage years were so different from my teenage years. I didn't have access to a computer until I was 10 or 11, and didn't have cable until the same time.

Most of my time was spent (gasp!) playing sports (cricket and football), climbing trees and playing different games with my childhood friends outdoors.

Then came Pokemon Silver (yes, I didn't have the privilege of starting with Red =_=)
Then came the computer. Then came my transformation.

Digimon was awesome. I still think angewomon and angemon are the coolest digimons out.
I still remember the first four seasons. I may watch the fifth just for closure. Actually, about a week or two, I was watching the digivolutions for season 4, and stumbled upon the opening for the fourth season

I knew the entire lyrics by heart, despite not hearing it for over 4 years! (I think)

Wargreymon and Metalgaruromon would like to disagree. Mega-digivolving baby.

You're the first I've known that's actually watched Season 4. For me, the Digimon Adventure universe (Seasons 1 and 2) had the best characters, but that might just be because it was the first series. I remember watching Season 3 on Fox Kids but never finishing it...

And I've never watched Season 4, but the theme song is great. Exceptionally well-done.

              P.S. I had a crush on Kari.

I'm currently having a nostalgia phase right now. I'm replaying Twilight Princess (not THAT nostalgic really..) and then moving on to the Prime trilogy (only ever completed the first, but now that my little brother has the wii trilogy i might as well) and hopefully Majoras mask, if my brother gets it on virtual console.

Digimon was great for the first 2 seasons, was alright for the third season.. but that spirit digivolve shit was completely lame. My favs were probably Stingmon (season 2) and Renamon (season 3). All 3 of the DNA digivolutions from season 2 were good too.

The first two seasons were the best yeah, but I did enjoy seasons three and four.

I saw someone playing Metroid Prime the other day, made me remember it. It's not really nostalgia as much as appreciation for a good game.

I miss the good ol' days of Toonami. And by good ol' days, I'm not talking about the final iteration of it before the time slot got canceled.

Also, I never really got into Digimon. I always saw it as a pokemon knock off. I can see now how it was actually less retarded, though.

But something from my childhood? Probably the most memorable thing from my childhood was a dream I had WAY back when I was five, that still seems to affect my life in some way even to this day.

I still have my slot car track that I got when I was 5 or 6 though. I'll put it together and play with it every once in a blue moon.

An old friend of mine's father owns part of an anime localization company, Toasty, and he thought the same thing as you. He was offered Digimon and turned it down because it was a pokemon knock-off. LOLZ

Part of the reason why I got into Digimon was because I could never afford the different aspects of the Pokemon craze. The trading cards, the games, it was too expensive for me when I was younger.

So one day, I turn on Fox Kids in the afternoon and I see this show called "Digimon: Digital Monsters", figured it might be unique and different enough, and it's all history from there.

Also, slightly related, I used some lotion the other day and the smell brought me back to the time when I first got it (about 5ish years ago). It brought back memories and feelings and such like nostalgia.

Gameboy COLOUR is my most nostalgic memory.
I remember the day I got mine (my brother got one too) and we got Oracle of Seasons AND Ages. It was on a long car-trip, so there was lots of awesome sun-light and amazing fun times were had that whole trip. Those two were seriously THE BEST Zelda games ever made. So much fun.

Also, a bit later on- Gold / Silver / Chrystal, Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime Zero were all super super fun.

Such a fitting topic since I was just going through my old stuff since I'm moving back home.

selling a bunch of shit the other day and found my Meet Sailor Jupiter guide book.

Totally into Sailor Moon as a kid. I'd watch the TV show religiously every afternoon with my best friend. We used to pretend we were the sailor scouts. I was Venus if I remember correctly. My cousin was totally into it too and we used to make Powerpoint presentations to send to each other about the different sailor scouts. Such a nerd.

I remember when I got my GBC. It was my reward for not being a total twat about getting braces in the fourth grade. I was quite the sight to see, I got rubber bands in my braces that were "bulbasaur colors" apparently which were turqouise and green. I soooo miss Pokemon though. I secretly play it still! I'm definitely going to get the Diamond/Pearl series to keep me amused this summer.

D/P sucked. Though I haven't played HG/SS yet, since they're basically remakes of the G/S/C games, and since I hear good things about them, they should be good.

The thing with pokemon now is that my friends don't play it anymore. The trading aspect of the game, which is needed if you want to catch them all, doesn't happen anymore.

I wouldn't mind playing heartgold, but I wouldn't bother to catch them all, thus I can't really be bothered to buy the game.
