Has anyone seen this from Bayern Munich vs. Roma in the Champions League recently? Great goal by Thomas Muller!

But up to now, Chelsea has a great start to the season with 12 points in 4 games though they've been playing against the weaker teams. Today they're playing Blackpool, which shouldn't have to give them too much trouble. As Blackpool's defense is quite shoddy but their physical strength on the midfield makes up for that against the weaker teams in the league. Next week they're playing Man City which kind of is the biggest challenge this season, so that would be the one to watch.
Dutch league is having "the classic" match of the season right now. Ajax (Amsterdam) is playing Feyenoord (Rotterdam) in Rotterdam at the moment. Ajax is 1-0 up, which isn't too surprising really.

Damn that's pretty impressive.
Can't imagine Blackpool causing an upset against Chelsea today. They've managed to hold their own against the teams around them so far, but there's a bit of a gulf between them and Chelsea. Ian Holloway was on the sports news saying about how the Blackpool players are having to wash their own kit at the moment, because they don't have the money to buy the larger washing machines that clubs tend to use.
Man City haven't really impressed so far this season. The only good result has been a win at Liverpool, and they're a side currently struggling for form as well. The whole of the summer has had so much hype for Man City and their signings, that people seem to forget that Robinho, who they spent £32 million on two years ago, has left them now. I imagine that over the next few seasons, other big names will fall away from the side. People talk about them winning the Premiership, but I can't imagine them moving forward until they get a consistent team together. They seem to think just buying big names will sort them out, but I can't imagine it working.

Seems like he's finally starting to justify the money United spent on him.
Heading back to uni on Wednesday so I won't be seeing much football in the grounds until Christmas time. The only match I'm coming back for is Villa v Blues, which should be interesting. Boxing Day might see me being able to go and watch Villa v Spurs, so I guess there's that to look forward to.

I think the commentators are right when they say it may well have been goal of the season.
I'm worried about Lionel Messi... I hope the ankle injury he suffered against Athletico Madrid isn't too serious. I was quite happy when Barca won, Athletico Madrid was the only side they lost points to when they won La Liga last season.

The Saints? Oh you mean Southampton. Fallen on some hard times in recent years, used to be in the Premiership but now all the way in League 1. Takes a lot of dedication to follow them.

Barcelona's good, but still a tad overrated. I liked the goal Elmander scored this weekend more.

Just turn of the music though, those idiots always have to put crappy music in with their clips.

I guess a lot of personal preference for teams comes from their style of attack. For me, Barcelona's passing game and dominance is just mesmerizing to watch. The possession statistics are always 70% and higher for Barca against most teams and when they string together passes as in the clip I posted above, they are absolutely unstoppable. Most free-flowing and creative team out there, club or nation, in my opinion.

And Barca is 1-0 up. No idea why but I'm rooting for Mourinho, don't care about the rest of Real Madrid.

Yep, brilliant stuff right from the start. Real just couldn't handle the tempo. I was kind of shocked how unmarked Real left Messi from time to time. Even though he didn't get any goals in himself, he was left quite a lot of space to give passes in to and in the penalty box. 3 of which resulted in goals. The only thing enjoyable about Madrid was Ronaldo shoving Guardiola for holding the ball, which in my opinion is a weak yellow card to give, Guardiola shouldn't be so childish to start with. As for the other cards, Carvalho deserved red for the elbow and Ramos' red card was definitely one.
A match for the books at least though.
[edit] Never mind about my Carvalho statement, Messi was being annoying prior to the "nudge"
And Cassillas really wasn't as good as he once was.
And that Victor Valdez really is a destable fellow.

On another topic, FIFA is making the decisions for the 2018 and the 2022 World Cups tomorrow. I hope we get 2022!

But hey, only 3 of the 22 votes were corrupted, so that a-okay! Isn't it, Mr. Blatter

Apparently that equates to two votes.
Russia still need to build their stadia and the transport links need to be improved.
I'm genuinely disgusted by it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry that Russia won, I'm sure they'll be able to deliver, it's just that England presented an incredibly strong bid and got screwed by FIFA.
The worst thing is hearing all the old pros saying how they wanted to see a World Cup in England in their lifetime. England's next chance to host the competition is in 2030. I'll be 39 by that time and my dad, who got me into the whole sport, will be 76.
Hope FIFA enjoy their World Cups.

At least with a world cup in England, Holland/Belgium or Spain/Portugal I could have visited.
Qatar is even a bigger joke by the way...

Chelsea's other big signing obviously being Luiz from Benfica. Good player who (hopefully) will have some great years yet to come.
Though all in all, much bigger spendings then I was expecting. Liverpool spent €70 million (estimate from the top of my head), Chelsea €75 million, Villa spent quite a lot (for their budget at least), Man city bought Dzeko so Real could buy Adebayor.
Though I guess that always seems to be a club's solution when they fall on lesser times, buy a striker. Though it rarely actually helps, perhaps merely a confidence boost.
