and you never would have thought in the end
how amazing it feels just to live again
it's a feeling that you cannot miss
it burns a hole through everyone that feels it
Comment:
A slower song than I would normally listen to, but this song has a nice and relaxed feel to it, making it worthy of being listened to multiple times.

Father: "Oh, you're sick alright! What's the matter with you this time, princie boy?!"
Teenager: "I've got an earache!"
Father: "Ear- .. earache MY EYE!!!"
Comment: This is ... THE. MOST. FUNNIEST. SONG. in existance. They've got a chunk of real comedy (no music in that part) in it, maybe from a TV show, but it's still funny. The whole song is about some guy fighting with his dad about going to school. The beginning starts with the guy getting up, putting his record on (which is the song itself), and gets back to bed. The father comes and stops the record, and punishes his son for not going to school. When he leaves, the guy turns back on his record.

Hmmm...well, it's true; there are only supposed to be the three music topics that we agreed on, and I suppose we could continue this in the General Music topic...
Ah well, what's done is done, Agatio. But, from here on in, there are to be NO MORE music topics, as per Max's orders, understood? If you have any need to discuss music, please do so in the appropriate topic:
General
Official Recorded Music Topic
Instruments And Your Stuff
Please understand; there have been a flooding of music topics recently, and we're desperately trying to keep the forums as clean and accessible as possible; and having a boatload of music topics makes things a bit confusing for everyone.
Now, as for me...
This Love - Maroon 5
This love has taken its toll on me.
She said "goodbye" too many times before.
Her heart is breaking in front of me.
And I have no choice, 'cause I won't say "goodbye" anymore.

Wake up

Grab a brush and put a little

Hide the scars to fade away the
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go create another fable

Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
You wanted to
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?
You wanted to
I don’t think you trust
In, my, self righteous suicide
I, cry, when angels deserve to die, die
Wake up
Grab a brush and put a little (makeup)
Grab a brush and put a little

Godsmack---- Straight out of line
There's no reason
There's no compromise
Change in seasons
Living the high life
I don't know you
So don't freak on me
I can't control you
You're not my destiny
Straight out of line
I can't find a reason
Why I should justify my ways
Straight out of line
I don't need a reason
You don't need to lie to me
I'll confess this you're my tragety
I laid you to rest just
As fast as you turned on me
Gone for ever
Vanished the memories
This face of pleasure
Are masked by your misery
Straight out of line
I can't find a reason
Why I should justify my ways
Straight out of line
I don't need a reason
You don't need to lie to me
Lie to me
Straight out of line
I can't find a reason
Why I should justify my ways
Straight out of line
I don't need a reason
You don't need to lie to me
Lie to me [x3]

It can also be a favorite song when you're not listening to anything, so, it kinda falls in the "legal but not really" department. Let it be. :agitated:

Anyway, to put it Agatio's way in a less rude manner, Linkin Park's not really hardcore. If you want hardcore, try the death metal kind.
But yeah, Linkin Park is great, just not so much that they would rule the world. They have a good mix of techno, DJ, rap (seldom), and metal, but sometimes the songs get ... a bit old and exaggerated to the ears. People want a harder, more excellently toned beat in a metal song, not to be blunt, though. Plus, sometimes the albums dull very quickly (*cough*Meteora*cough*), but, bear in mind, along comes the very unique album that gets them out of a jam (Reanimation).
To summarize, Linkin Park, on a scale from "annoying" to "insane"*, I'd give them an "okay". Their music's great, but it really dies down so quickly that it makes you sick of them later on. This is better as a basis for people who want to get into the metal genre first-hand.
*Silo's scale goes as follows:
0 - Annoying
1 - Stupid
2 - Very Bland
3 - Bland
4 - Undecided
5 - Okay
6 - Pretty Good
7 - Good
8 - Cool
9 - Awesome
10 - Insane (and that's a good thing)

You may not like it but some people do. It's better to respect a person's choice of music rather than make comments like that. I happen to be a fan of rap. I understand alot about the music. I can separate what you call "commercial" rap and "spiritual" rap. I would probably know a lot more about this than you would considering you probably do not listen to it often. I understand that not many people like it but to disrespect a person because of their choice of music is wrong.
So Many Tears - 2pac
Comment: I love this song! He really does express his feelings in this! 2pac is definitely a realist in my book!
Quote:
Back in elementary, I thrived on misery
Left me alone I grew up amongst a dyin breed
Inside my mind couldn't find a place to rest
until I got that Thug Life tatted on my chest
Tell me can you feel me? I'm not livin in the past, you wanna last
Be tha first to blast, remember Kato
No longer with us he's deceased
Call on the sirens, seen him murdered in the streets
Now rest in peace
Is there heaven for a G? Remember me
So many homies in the cemetery, shed so many tears
Ahh, I suffered through the years, and shed so many tears..
Lord, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears
Now that I'm strugglin in this business, by any means
Label me greedy gettin green, but seldom seen
And f*** the world cause I'm cursed, I'm havin visions
of leavin here in a hearse, God can you feel me?
Take me away from all the pressure, and all the pain
Show me some happiness again, I'm goin blind
I spend my time in this cell, ain't livin well
I know my destiny is Hell, where did I fail?
My life is in denial, and when I die,
baptized in eternal fire I'll shed so many tears
Lord, I suffered through the years, and shed so many tears..
Lord, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears

it's bugging me
calling me
and twisting me around
yeah I'm endlessly
caving in
and turning inside out
because I want it now
I want it now
give me your heart and your soul
and I'm breaking out
I'm breaking out
that's when she'll lose control
yeah it's hurting me
morphing me
and forcing me to strive
to be endlessly
caving in
and dreaming of my love
because I want it now
I want it now
give me your heart and your soul
I'm not breaking down
I'm breaking out
that's when she'll lose control
and I want you now
I want you now
I feel my heart implode
and I'm breaking out
escaping now
feeling my faith erode
I am obsessed with this song; I have it on loop on my CD player. It's my song of the moment because I'm so incredibly angry at myself for being such a moron. These lyrics can be LITERALLY applied to my life at this current moment.

Comment: My favorite song off the album "Hail to the Thief". The song is very abstract and poetic. On a first listen, the lyrics make absolultely no sense whatsoever but when you really listen to them, there's a deep underlying message. This one is about a hypocrite and about how wrong a relationship can be. Not to mention it has an extremely catchy beat. ^_^

call me crazy, but to be a rock artist, don't you need a guitar?
Usher has as much talent as me, and i failed music at high school, he just has those magic ingreidents to be an urban artist (you know lack of talent, rough urban upbringing etc.)
that is one of the reasons i pay no attention to any kind of chart.
did slipknot win best classical artists?
did Linkin Park win best jazz act?
did greenday win best blues act?
back to usher.
Dullahan's defintion of Pop
firstly utter sh!t, no hopers who think they can sing, sing really awful songs aimed at 10 year olds and get other people to play their instruments for them and claim all the credit.
Dullahan's defintion of Rock
very good music, your basic band consists of lead vocals, guitar and drums, many bands have unnecessary extra guitarists and LP just take the piss. generally consists of loud guitars and drums with lead vocals singing/bawling words of a song. Solo rock artists are few and far between.
Usher is none of these, he is a talentless pathetic bigheaded tosser who is a waste of oxygen

If that's how you feel, that's how you feel. But let me tell you if you think of it that way then you really don't know anything about "REAL" rap and urban music.
Urban well it depends if they sing or rap. Rnb singers usually have great voices and don't always sing commercialised things.
For example, Alicia keys "What goes around comes around" ACTUALLY has a positive message. Beyonce's Me myself and I, guess what? Positive message also.
And who could forget about Aaliyah *does angel face*. =)
Rap, well there is a difference between Commercial rap and Spiritual rap. People like lil' Jon, chingy, 50 cent, Ja rule, lil' kim etc. are people who make what you call commercial rap music. Talking about pimpin', sex, cars, bling, degrading women, explaining sexual situations are not something I am really a fan of. Snoop dogg... well he's kinda changed his attitude to "pimpin". Personally I liked him better in the older days of hiphop and rap.
People like 2pac, Kanye west, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Talib, Immortal Technique, Eminem (sort of), Outlawz, Warren G, and others are real, and talk about reality as how it is. Yeeh they maybe blunt at times but they give it you as straight facts, and it's a way to show how strong they really are.

Quote: "Toxic, loud and obnoxious, Crazy Town's toxic, with that, rock your block @#%$ ... "
Comment: As far as I can tell, that's as much of the lyrics I can make out in this punk metal song. Not that I think it's punk metal, but it's a metal genre song for sure. You can hear this song on the sound track for Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX available on the GameCube, PS2, and Xbox.
Rating: 7.5/10
EDIT: I looked up the lyrics, and part of the chorus is up there now in the quote.

When I saw that the first word was "Toxic" that worried me for a bit. >_>
Back in one piece - Aaliyah/DMX
Quote: Do you know what a dog needs? Do you really know what a dog needs? Dog needs a *Rrrr*... ...Dog needs a *Rrrr*
Comment: Lol that part was funny. ^^ I love Aaliyah's voice. @_@ Nice beat as well.

Quote : Feed the world, let them know it's Christmas time again...
Comment : A good contemporary version of a classic Christmas song. I do, however, prefer the old 1984 version. But it is good that they changed it (made it less electronic, more rocky).

Quote: "My name is Volatile
I've been this way a long while
I'd surely like to rest
But the energy gets the best of me
It's been a wild ride
I wouldn't change a minute
I can't slow down inside
Guess that's why I live it"
Comment: Pretty good at the beginning, but it really drops down for the rest of the song. But, it's pretty catchy, I give you that.

Age aint nothin' but a number
Throwing down aint nothin' but a thing
This something I have for you
It'll never change
Comment: I love her voice. It's a very sappy RnB song but her voice is nice and the lyrics are ok.

Comment: I've loved this song ever since I've played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Dreamcast. Everytime I listen to it, it fills me with memories of hitting the half-pipe and comboing it to a rail. Good times.

trustin' in what you cant see
take my lead, i'll set you free
follow me, set me free
trust me and we will escape from the city

Quote:
"Once there was a man
Who had a little too much
Time on his hands
He never stopped to think
That he was getting older
But when his night came to an end
He tried to grasp for his last friend
And pretend that he could wish himself health
On a four leaf clover
He said is this the return to Oz?
The grass is dead
The gold is brown
And the sky has claws
There's a wind up man walking round and round
What once was Emerald City
Is now a crystal town"
Rating: 9/10 Just pure decent random lyrics and good tune/instruments.

Quote:
You're giving me too many things
Lately you're all I need
You smiled at me and said,
Don't get me wrong I love you
But does that mean I have to meet your father?
When we are older you'll understand
What I meant when I said "No,
I don't think life is quite that simple"
When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go
The daily things that keep us all busy
Are confusing me
That's when you came to me and said,
Wish I could prove I love you
But does that mean I have to walk on water?
When we are older you'll understand
It's enough when I say so
And maybe some things are that simple
Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all
Nothing's like before
