I think Fire Emblem is the best Stradegy/Rpg for the GBA and quite possibly the best I've played ever in my whole life. I beat the game like 5 times. Eliwood is the coolest because he is always my strongest chracter. I can't wait until Roy comes in at the second one. Am I going too off topic? Sorry :huh:

Well you are asking this in a FE forum so there is gonna be alot of good reviews.
FE is the best stradegy game for the GBA...period. Everything is basic, except the story. Ever heard of Advance Wars 1 or 2? FE is exactly like that, but when you battle it's more rpg-like. Me, my friends, even my parents say it's a cool game for the GBA. I wrote a short/lame review for FFTA in one of the topics around here somewhere but you're gonna have to look for it. After that you're gonn have to decide which is better.

I usually prefer games where you're in charge of the action, like Zelda where they give you a sword and you slash and slash and shlash xD.

Sain and Kent are great pladdins...but I tend to use Kent a little more so he is stronger...
My fav character is Eliwood...
Once he becomes a Knight Lord...he kicked ass in the last stages...
Even in his first class he was still very good...
Oswin became a big powerhouse and wall...
Hector rocked...
Lyn on the other hand levels were growing slowly even though I used her alot...

From ? to 30 something its Eliwood
Hector is a lord just like the others so he is also a main character

Yes, the character talking is very nice and the battle animations are cute...
The music is very emotional and everything is fast and smooth unlike some games...
It takes a couple of tries to not have someone die...I've gotton so used to it so its no problem...just be careful about your formation and always check the enemy's movement range and weapons before you end your turn...

i realized it was death for real cause the first time i was playing i just got my Pegausus Knight crusing around the Map because she can go anyways am like a big bad machina and going everywhere with knight for herself then i see she died she started to tell them she cant make it no more and stuff i was like oh well no expo for her then after a while i realized no more nothing!

I loved this game, it was really good. It is really challenging, try Hector's Hard mode. Lyn's Route (chapter 1-10) were good, and teaches you how to play, Eliwood's Route (chapter 11-31) was the main story, and Hector's Route was just Eliwood's story again. The character's were good and they all had some flaw, but Eliwood was annoying, Lyn and Hector were much cooler and better. Eliwood's only real purpose was to be Roy's dad, because Lyn's insane speed and luck and Hector's defense and attack own! That and Erk rocks! :P

5 characters left? When my sister was playing and got killed Serra and beat the chapter, I had to start the game over.
The real challenge is beating the entire game, including Lyn's Story, without restarting chapter's to keep your characters. I got to ch 28 (Hector's Hard Mode) without losing anyone... but I'm not perfect... stupid Wil had to die. ^_^ .. I should've bought Rebecca, oh well. ^_^

Answer: no. That's Eliwood, his dad. Plot line wise, *SPOILER* Eliwood marries Ninian, which is why Roy is half dragon.

OMG did you just say that Marcus is the BEST?
In the FE community we call him a Jeigan... Jeigan is an old Fire Emblem character who is a Paladin just like Marcus...

Marcus steals your experience... Marcus is really bad later in the game... Using him is a BAD idea... actually DON'T do it...
Oswin=Goodness, he's the best Knight you can get.
The 3 cavaliers: They're OK at best, if you want to use them, use Sain and Kent, when they are on support level A Sain is the best Cavalier/Paladin, because of his high strength and added accuracy.

Yes, he is really good... For now.

Since you get him upgraded, his stats won't be as high as Sain's or Kent's toward's the end of the game. Once you get him to about lvl 7, his exp growth slows down. Dramatically. Thus, he'll be stealing the exp of other characters, including the all important Lords, who will be practically invincible at the end of the game, while poor Marcus ends up useless. And Lowen is only good until you get Sain and Kent back.

Not really, especially if you upgrade him at lvl 10. All your units you should upgrade at levels 18-20, so they can get their max stats. Your lords should definately be at lvl 20 before you upgrade. Lowen is decent, at best, he does have an amazing defense though... but Sain has attack, Kent has accuracy, and at support level A, they're amazing... the best cavalier is definately Kent.

Oh, no, that's not what I meant. You need the knight's crest to upgrade your cavaliers, but you should save one for Oswin.

1. Marcus sucks...He is horrible at the last levels and dies easily...I made the same mistake the first time...
2. Oswin is truly awsome...High defense...Good attack...Dodge rate is nice too...Movement range ain't so great...
3. Eliwood is gold...He helped like crazy the last level...I only used him hector...and Lyn...Defence: Very good also...Attack: Its ok...
4. Roy is half dragon...Man I got to get tht game...
5. im sorry I don't like Guy...He's fast but he gets wounded way too fast for me...So I don't risk using him...
6. I figured FE to be an easy game... I trained these characters...especially in the colesseum:

Sain and Kent
Eliwood
Fiora, Flolina? and the other pegeases knight
Hector: Mad good once promoted at Lv 20
Lyn: My lowest level lord :D Great speed though
Oswin
Rebeca
Barte and Dorcas
Lucious? The holy magic user...Very fast
Erk
Canas...Ultimate Pain...Great against Lords
Serra...The healer...and bishop
and so on...

Characters you should use: Isaac Zero 2 is right about a lot of things... NEVER use Marcus, keep him in a corner and forget about him... Me and Isaac Zero 2 play very differently...
I don't play with Cavaliers, you can play how you want to but here's what I do...

Rebecca pwns Wil... Rebecca is a LOT faster and better...
Lyn OWNS all, speed, strength, luck... everything you could want and more, when she uses the Mani Katti, she's absolutely unstoppable, the best unit in the game...
Eliwood= decent at best, he's a Lord, so you should Level him up anyway. He didn't do to good for me. Hector you should level up, early on he sucks, but later, he'll be really good. Florina is the BEST Pegasus Knight if you want to use, Raven is the best Mercenary, I like using Guy, but he has low defense to balance out good speed. You should level up Priscilla and Serra, you can use Lucius, though I didn't.

Erk = goodness, even though Nino is sickengly powerful, but you get her really late. Canas you should level up because he's the only shaman you get.

The only other thing I can tell you is DONT USE MARCUS!!! And LEVEL UP YOUR LORDS!!!!

Lyn Story: Prolouge to 10
Eliwood Story: 11-31
Hector's Story: 11-34
Then there are hard mode chapters and Extra chapters as well.
Eliwood is the main character in his story, that's why it's Eliwood's story :(

Roy is a character in SSBM, who's the main character in FE6, you won't see him until the end.

Hey, one more Knights crest is recieved from Rath when you get him by talking to him with Lyn in Eliwood/Hector's story. I dunno where the last one is. But dude, Marcus SUX. When I first started, I thought he was AWESOME! But when you get to the end of the game, one shot from the final boss, his HP is down to 3! And I leveled him up to 20!!!!

My tips for teams:

Lyn: the COOLEST Lord she, leveled up to a blade lord from level 20, and as a lv 20 blade lord, is AMAZING with the Mani Katti equipped, she is UNTOUCHABLE
Hector:POWERFUL
Eliwood:okay, decent stats
Oswin:GOLDEN
Canas: at high levels, he is almost unstoppable
Guy: the best swordsmaster (sorry BLL) he is DEFINITELY better than Karla With a killing edge equipped, he critical hits EVERY time
Nino: Awesome as a sage!!!!!!
Rebecca: great as a sniper, attacks 2x in a bastilla

Never use Marcus, believe me, it took me FOREVER to beat the game with him in my team. Now, i care less about him and level everyone else up. BLL is a great FE player. Listen to him too. I gave him lotsa tips like DO NOT USE MARCUS

Im sorry...I think Nino and Ninian isn't that useful...They just dance...helping your characters move another turn...and those rings that protect you...
They are good in some stages when you set up an attack plan...
But they take forever to level up!
Even Serra seems to level up faster...Serra's an awsome magician and healer...
Lucious rocks...You could easily kill a boss with her...
Raven is a great asset to everyone's team...With high attack power and a nice
Rebecca...Any one who tries to face her has a death wish...Speed always seems to level up everytime...At the beginning she is very weak though...
Florina...Goddess...She is very hard to train but in the end its worth it...
Oswin...Oswin...Oswin is like a tank...All big and bulky...That knight is awsome

The Marcus curse:

Once upon a time, a guy (who will not be named, because EVERYONE has used Marcus at least once) was playing Fire Emblem. It was chapter 22, and his Marcus was a mighty level 20. But for some reason, he kept dying. His Lords where at a measly level 9, and his other units weren't above level 11, he had not promoted a single one. It was alright though, because he still had Marcus. When he took Marcus to fight the 2nd to last boss, he got killed in one hit. And all his units died as he played on as well. Why? Because Marcus SUX!!!!!!

You want your team to be somewhat balanced, usually your three lords, a magic user, a strong attacker... stuff like that.

I upgraded Matthew into an assasin, he rocks with high strength, Legault is a better theif, Matthew is the better Assasin...

Jaffar is good, his stats don't go up to much, but there isn't that much to go up when you get him, almost all his stats are close to maxed.

edit: BTW, if Vaida was all pumped up like she was at that one chapter, she'd be awesome... but she isn't

The only complaint I have with part of your team is Wil, the only archer you really need is Rebecca... You should toss in Nils or Priscilla instead.

yeah...by beating the game about 6 or 7 times AND lending the game to BLL, my suggestion is...

Nino (personally my fave character other than Lyn) the BEST mage/sage in the game
Rebecca
Matthew (assassin) his attack won't rise that much until lv 10 assassin but his stats are amazing
Guy or Karla
1 healer preferably Pricilla because her anima magic is better than Serra's light magic
Use Nils or Ninian A LOT great 4 getting others exp
Oswin--Powerhouse! Great 4 final chapter. At level 20 general...hes amazing 1 flaw...if berzerked-->BAD

Bartre as a warrior
at least 1 flying preferably Florina (best peg/falco knight) or Heath as a wyvern lord

That kind of depends on how you play...If you're an all out rampage kind of gamer than the game would be hard...
The only recommendation anyone gives you is to take your time...
What I mean is check enemy weapons...rescue anyone is their health is low...etc.
I found the game very easy...but the lords were pretty strong...Just take your time and you'll get through...

About level 5 or 6, and I still use him, but it moderation with other characters (letting them all fight equally). My lords are about levels 8 (lyn) and I think the other 2 are about 11 0r 12, I'm on chapter 20.

There is a serious problem if Lyn is only Level 8, moderate use of Marcus is OK but you'll end up getting more exp for your character's if you don't use him at all.

WOAH! I agree w/ BLL. You definitly need to raise up your lords levels. Especially Lyn and Hector. You don't have to level up Eliwood JUST yet because he can't upgrade until late in the game. Take Marcus out for a few chapters and level up your other people. Like Lyn, Hector, sometimes Eliwood, and Oswin. W/O using Marcus at chapter 20 Eliwood's story I believe my characters were...

The GCN version is kind of like in Fire Emblem 7 GBA when you put the attack animation on "OFF" except the GCN actually shows the unit hitting the opposing unit.

Eliwood can be trained in the early stages of his chapter...He starts leveling up real fast...
Especailly the second stage of his chapter (same goes for Hectors) I got him to level 20 in about 4 chapters...
Lyn is pretty hard to train...But she has good speed and the Mani Katti...
Hector is horrible at the beginning...Has horrible hit rate...but good attack...especially with his starting ax...

Lyn is very easy to level up, in the Lyn Hard Mode, I got her to level 10 by chapter 7... She should be your focus early, so when you get her back, you won't need to level her up much....

Eliwood is the worst Lord in my opinion... But he's easier to level up then Hector... to many sword user's early in the game....

This is actually very simple, just take Lyn with her Mani Katti and make her attack Ursala, it will do much damage. If she is a Blade Lord (WHICH SHE SHOULD BE ABOUT LEVEL 5) she will most likely do a critical hit.

BRING BOTH THEIVES (Legault and Matthew)

Take them both to the left along with protection

Take Lyn and some others to the right. Make sure to bring Eliwood that way so you can get Nino.

Recruit Nino. Make Lyn keep going down. Ursula MIGHT have started to use Bolting by then. She is at the end of that hall. Attack her with Lyn and the Mani Katti, it'll take her down easily.

Start leveling up Nino, and make sure you use her to talk to Jaffar.

In Hector's mode, take Oswin with a Horseslayer and Lyn with the Mani Katti to that same hall.

About your site and forum BLL, I went there, please don't use the freewebs template your using now, it's the worst one there is, everyone uses the smoke motiff.

About the forum though. You gotta make boards. I guess you could make me an admin for a day or so and I could make them for you but anywho this is how you do it (I consider myself quite good at invisionfree ^_^ )

1. When you have logged in go to the Admin CP link towards the top of the page.
2. Clink it and a browser windo will pop up. It will ask again for your username and password, enter them.
3. You will now be in the administrators control panel (admin cp). From here you can change pretty much anything in the forum, for starters go down to "Forum Control" on the sidebar, and in that catagory, click "new catagory"
4. From this page you can create as many catagorys as you want. for starters make 1.
4. Basically call it want you want like "site and forum and related" or "fire emblem related".
5. Then you can begin to make boards. Click "new forum".
6. Then you can start making boards. When you click to make a new forum it will ask you thinks such as...
~Add to which parent (catagory)
~Permission masks (who can acess what)
~forum state (whether it's active or not)
and stuff like that.

hey MW, definitly level up Nino, she's the best mage/sage in the game. And talk to Jaffar so u can go to the 26x chapter! I won't spoil it to you, but level up your guys FAST for the next chapter. Many people I know, including I have trouble beating 26x. Wait...have you beaten the game once yet?

1. What kind of item is for Matthew to level up? I got that one item where it can level up any unit, but that didn't work. Oh yeah, Matthew is level 20, so don't think I didn't level him.

To elaborate about the Assasin's...

Without the Secret shop's, you will only get 1 Fell Contract, and that is in Chapter 26x. I suggest you only use one because Assasin's can't steal.

Agatio, did you get Canas? He's a really good/the only shaman in the game. And also, don't use Isadora that much. At higher levels, she becomes like Marcus. Use ppl like Raven, Guy, and some other ppl. Use Matthew too. He's a great assassin when he upgrades.

The best Lord is Lyn... Why?

1:A 20/20 Hector can't hit a 20/20 Lyn, even when Hector has a sword.

2: Lyn would be able to hit multiple times.

3: Lyn has a higher critical hit rate (in the 40 to 50's)


That and Eliwood stinks. Him vs Lyn, Lyn would win because the Mani Katti is good against Cavalry, and Eliwood is sitting on a horse.

1: That's assuming that A) Lyn isn't using the Mani Katti (it does extra damage to heavily armored units) or the Runesword, as Hector has lower resolution (my 20/20 Hector has only 14 res.)
2: Yes it does. The Mani Katti does extra damage to him, and his hit rate against her with the Armads isn't very high (it's 48)
3: If it does damage (which it did) than a critical from Lyn would do a lot... especially since she attacks twice.

In Lyn's Hard mode you can get her max lvl 15, and in Lyn's normal I got her to 8.

They give her an Iron Sword in arena's anyway...

Lyn doesn't need support to have a Avoid of 90... with Florina lvl A it can go in the hundreds... most weapons won't hit her, the hit rate would be 0.

After see that loong disagreement about who's the best lord...I think its safe to say that almost everyone is good but it matters how you trained them...
I used Eliwood to kill Nergal and he fell easily...
Hector is very good except for hit rate...(not using a sword)
Lyn is still good with an iron sword...With the Mani Katti and Sol Katti she kicks butt...

I thnk some FE games are in Japanese...Like Thracia 776 or Genealagy of the Holy War...Unless you're using a rom...

First Isaac Zero 2, I have only played 3, 4, 6, and 7 (obviously), I only own FE7. I've played the ROM's of the others... And you beat the game MW, congrats....

Anyway, Pent is just the Marcus of Mages, Erk and Nino beats him down... what I do is save Afa's Drops for Nino so she gains a level after every kill almost.

And also, the un-upgraded people are always the best characters. Rebecca is a lot better then Louise. The only exception is Karla because she is so hard to get.

Agatio, you missed Guy and Erk? You're stuck with Pent if you don't level up Nino (which a lot of people don't). You get Canas on chapter 16x in Eliwood's mode.

Wil and Rath are nothing compared to Rebecca. Her defense is a bit low, but her strength and speed are higher then Wil's and Rath's. The only reason I still use Rath is because he's the only Nomad, as a Trooper.

say what you want... but my Wil always seems to max his speed,str(sometimes),more than half his def... so to me he is stronger than rath and rebecca...

I made my rath a nomad trooper so now he's even stronger than before!

Wil rocks more than Rebecca.

On my first file, I chose Rebecca and leveled her. On the final chapter, she dies easily.

My brother took the second file and leveled up Wil (Sexist issue). Wil beat the crud over almost all the bosses at the end.

Here is Wil's Average 20/20 stats.

HP : 51/60 Def: 14/25
Pow: 25 MAXED Res: 12/23
Skl: 26/30 Mov: 06
Spd: 22/29 Con: 07 Avoid 29/36
Luc: 21/30 Aid: 06

Compared to Rebecca:

HP : 44/60 Def: 11/24
Pow: 22/24 Res: 14/24
Skl: 25/30 Mov: 06
Spd: 29 MAXED Con: 06 Avoid: 35 MAXED
Luc: 23/30 Aid: 05

Wil has a much better chance of Maxing out his HP, but Rebecca can to. Also, she is one point short of maxing out her Power. Her speed is always maxed, and her luck and avoid are maxed as well. Wil is much more suspectible of taking damage, you can always save an Angelic Robe for Rebecca so her HP is closer to his.

I guess it just depends on how we level them, since I got Rebecca on 20/20 and she can't hit squat.

I guess it happens, Matthew as an assasin is supposed to have a good strengh, but for me, at 15/2 he had a Strength of 5.

Yeah...I think so too. I leveled Matthew up 20/18 his strength is maxed out. Well, maybe it's because he is only a level 2. If you level him up, maybe his stats will raise more.
