As you probably noticed, all users now have the chance to choose which design/skin they want for the main site from the top 3 places in the design contest and the old design. Everyone has difference preferences when it comes to designs, and so this way everyone should be happy http://www.goldensun-syndicate.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif Cookies are required for this to work so if you are having trouble make sure that cookies are enabled in your browser. Update: Andross' skin (Skin #3) has been updated as he requested. The skin chooser page has had a minor facelift and may recieve another one soon.

Yes, the skin selection page could use some spicing up, I just threw it together quickly so I could get this up today. If anyone wants to submit a more interesting page with as few images as possible that would be nice.

Well, I think the splash page should have the same current forur images, but not as links, have a link underneath. And the background to be white, and also to have a generic banner. I'll see what I can do for you Max ^_^ .

Here's a skin chooser based upon the current, with some changes to make it look nicer.

I think i know what happened that didnt allow me to access the site. My Internet Privacy level was on high, but when I changed it to Medium High, it worked! ^_^

BTW- I tested the skins on my cop, and I found that Andross' turned out way better than I thought it would, and now I really like it. :blink:

I knew andross would use his imaging skills to beat me. Ah well, I just provided something that wasn't image heavy as max asked, just plain, simple, and easy on the eyes. It depends what Max is after really.

Max will be using your basic design (and he didn't need the code, because it's not hard to replicate) until he codes mine. Since my design requires some extra PHP work and other tweaks, he will test it first, and decide if it is viable.

Your's is fairly image heavy Andross. It's very good no doubt, but something simpler may have been better.

Amount of images doesn't really affect anything. It's the size per image. The buttons are no less than 10 to 15k. The only large image is the bg, which I have already told Max he can remove if needed.

And, actually, those screenshots are about the same size as my buttons, so really, mine isn't as large as yours.

Heh. I prefer yours Andross as it's easier on the eyes, slower download time, and looks sleaker. I was looking at your code also. When I get a bit better at imaging, I'll try something like that myself. Good job.

Agatio, if you mean HTML coding then the coding was done by me. Andross provided the CSS for the menu effect, but all the rest of the coding was done by me, just like all the other designs.

I'm glad you all seem to like what I've done. It was a gamble and I've gotten some negative feedback from a few people, but overall it seems people like it, so I think it was pretty successful. It is interesting to see what skins you guys are using, because like Andross noted, Jadoku's design got a lot of votes in the poll and yet few are saying they are using it now.

Whoops, should have realised it was your coding Max, sorry. That menu effect is CSS? Hmmm, I thought it was JS, I'll have to look into that a little fruther as I like that effect, may use it for my next version...

Who could give negative feedback? It's great! People have a choice of what design they want to use, very original.

They probably have critisized it merely for it's looks. Not to mean any offense, but it is bland and somewhat bulky. That was why I developed the splash I did. I intended to make something eye pleasing, while functional and not obtrusive.

Well, your splash is very good no doubt, I was just concerned about the download size, as max specified non-image-heavy splash. But I guess it is a little blanf. If I was better at imaging, I would have made a GS background perhaps.
