Has anyone seen it?
I cant wait for episode 5 to be released, I watched this last friday and they just showed the first 4 episodes, obviously stalling cause they didnt have it translated >>
I think Momo the Leemer is the way aang is going to connect to that airbender he was supposed to meet in the Air temple, but I am not sure, in fact, I think Momo is that person for some reason.

As long as Avatar ends up being one of the shows that actually end. Not like DBZ that is going on forever. Now they're on DB GT. I want a nice action ending. Plus Prince Zuko (just going by how it sounds on TV) is cool. Though in one episode you find he's not that bad.

Anyway, I've seen a few episodes of the show, and it's alright. Better than any anime I've seen, 'cept for maybe Tenchi Muyo. (yes I know this isn't anime)

For the record, this is one of my all-time favorite shows. I adore the characters, the story line, and the nicely drawn backgrounds. Vivid, imaginative, humorous, very deep plot, and well-worth the watch, even if you think you've "outgrown" these type of shows.

At any rate, how has the second season (Book 2: Earth) been in everyone's opinion? Personally, I've loved it. It's especially cool to see more and more into the life of Prince Zuuko and Iroh, and the Fire Nation as a whole. Their backstory is very interesting, to say the least.
And anyone else think Toph is about the coolest character ever? :)
Also, as a reminder: an Avatar special/movie, entitled "The Secret of the Fire Nation" will debut on September 15th.

Yes, what's truly frightening is that Aang seems to have gone completely ballistic about this whole thing... remember, he went in the avatar state just to defeat those sandbenders, and even a bunch of bees that was causing them problems! He's really lost control of himself, it's scary. :P
But yes, Azula is totally cool... and evil. Scary, she almost reminds me of Sephiroth in her attitude. hehe, set the net on fire... that's totally a new classic. :)
Any hints on what "The Secret of the Fire Nation" may be?

It was interesting to see how intent Sokka was on finding the next solar eclipse. He might be a comedian much of the time, but he's really serious when he sets his mind to it. And yes, he did steal a few books, that was amusing :P

What I mean by that is, while it's on Nickelodeon they need to "censor" what would otherwise be a somewhat mature situation, namely, the violence. Have you noticed that when Aang uses his wind powers there ALWAYS seems to be a body of water conveniently near by that cushions his enemies fall? That sort of thing always ticks me off. It's like being told to go shank somebody, but you're given a dull knife because a sharp one would make them bleed (and that's bad).
I still don't really like the faux-Asian style, but that's my own pet peeve. (I'm bored of the Anime style) Though I can see the appeal in it. It blurs the line between anime and western, which is cool in it's own right though sometimes I feel like I can't decide if I'm watching one or the other.
Even though it's not my favorite show, 4 million viewers can't be wrong. :agitated:
Did you guys hear they're making a live-action film on this?

question: does anyone know what they plan to have as a book after book 3? i mean if nothing else you've run out of elements to master
#144
Posted 24 December 2007 - 09:32 PM
I don't see necessarily why it's hard to see that Katara became a waterbending master (or at least a high level waterbender) - it's her natural element, she's had plenty of experience (i.e. the waterbending scrolls, Master Pakku, countless fights). That said, the additional blood bending is simply not the "direction" that Katara would go for in advancing her skills, at least not naturally, and we've yet to see her use it.
As for the length of the entire series, the creators have gone on record saying that season 3 will be the end of this "arc" - with Aang needing to master the four elements to defeat Fire Lord Ozai before Sozin's comet arrives, etc. - however, a new story with new characters, in the same setting, for the next seasons aren't out of the question. They just wouldn't feature the current cast (Aang, Katara, etc.) as the main characters, but it would still be the same universe.

Bloodbending really made me mad. I mean they're technically killing people in this war anyways (though they never show it) yet katara refuses to use it. If she did they might not even have to kill people, they could just capture them. But nooo, it's the 'principle' of it.
plus she yelled at my precious zuko. i hates her.

Too bad he had to be a side character. Although the whole "who cares about the village, kill the fire tribe" part was kinda shallow. Yeah, just a little.
And lightning isn't spelled with an "e" >>

Anyways, being the deviantard I am, I searched for zuko and found this amazing flash movie and I couldn't help but think how much a certain red head would love to see it :] http://go-devil-dante.deviantart.com/art/A...e-lord-58128768

I think Zuko rocks as well BUT his fire bending is still lame in comparison to Iroh or Azula.

You've already seen the one chapter I'd consider filler (11, the Great Divide). Just curious, how many episodes are you watching per day?

See I think Zuko is the best because he's still learning, but he has amazing potential. Iroh and Azula have hit their peaks. Iroh is teh win though.
and wait, what was the great divide about gl? The one with the two warring tribes who were actually fighting over some pointless ball game?

Haha yeah, I loved when Sokka was delusional and talking about Appa being the funniest guy he'd met. I watched the new episode ( Chapter 13) and it was okay, just okay.

I actually found the new episode good. One of the better ones in fact, because it was focusing on the elements again, on the bending and such. So far the
O... and Katara's still a bish.

sorry, but it wasn't on last night and a piece of me died :D I think I need to have a good bout of discussing how awesome zuko is.
The show that was on was the first episode of this season. I didn't really like it, there was way too much drama. I think they need the wit or else the emo kinda takes over

But it probably is Katara's fault.

That's why I personally like to wait until a season is finish before watching a show. I save less time and the suspsense doesn't kill me.

Nah, I think the boiling rock is name for some fire nation base or something they're going to visit.
Or even better, it could be a reference to Iroh, the rockhard boiled-up man.
Or an artifact of some sort.
The base thing is most likely though.
