I came back from my robotics competition in Annapolis last night, but haven't been really back online until now.

My team placed 52nd out of 55 teams, but the ranking system isn't really that fair in my opinion. Your rank is based on your record (win-loss-tie ratio), and so if you get paired with weak teams then you end up losing lots of matches and so your rank goes down. Nevertheless, I had a great time at the competition, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Despite our low rank, I don't think there was a team at the competition that didn't know what the "little blue bot" was, so we were pleased about that. Apparently the webcast wasn't working on Friday, but it was fixed for Saturday. However, our matches were at 10:15am and 11:15am, so most of you probably would have missed it because they were so early in the morning.

Anyhow, so I'm back now and have school for one more week before spring break. I'm going to allow GSW Map submissions for a few more days because not many people submitted yet, but PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR MAPS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Also, for all you Mac users out there, GSW will be available for OSX, so you can play along also for the server test over my spring break. I'll post more on that next weekend.

good job on the whole popularity thing too. Its great to hear that GSW will be out on the Mac this time too. I'll be sure to tell my neighbor(who lives in a Mac house), though sadly, he doesn't have next week off, so he won't be on 24/7 like most of us :P

I got up at 6:00AM to watch it both mornings. I watched Max's matches and was pissed off when his team lost 16 - 6 in one of them. Max told me they would've won the match if the assistant driver knew that you weren't allowed to repeatedly ram other robots. >>;;

Better luck next time... At least you didn't come in last. We have those robotic competitions alot here too. Our school's team made 14'th out of like... 30-40 or so... not to make you look bad or anything. They actually had a very *cough cough* bad robot (sorry maker :agitated:)

I always kinda wanted to make a robot. Though the fear that I wouldn't make one good enough was always sorta a downer. You actualy made one. I kinda admire that.
