Slow Times

Anyhow, GSW development is in hibernation as AveneR works on his real world project. The forum has suffered the loss of many veterans over the past two months, and they have really changed. I'm holding out to hear the news at E3 before making any decisions about the future of this site though. As I've told people in the past, as long as you all keep coming here I'll keep the site up.
For those of you who noticed, Fury is in the process of upgrading GS Sprites to a gallery script so we can manage it more easily. However, we hit some snags, and so it'll be a few more days probably before it launches.
I'm looking to hire a staffer for GSS to kick some life back into it. I'd like someone with some HTML experience if at all possible, but just an ideas guy/gal would be appreciated at this point.

I'm going to join the site when I buy the game (Which I know what it is ...It's not Riviera. I also know the URL, f00.)
...That is, I'll join if Max doesn't mind.

back to topic;
I haven't visited your site Max, but since I don't play alot of games lately, I think you didn't want me there anyway =).
I hope your site will become as big as GSSF, even bigger and more populair, since you really have the right for that.
furthermore, although lots of veterans left, we also gained some. and as she just presented she was back, to "help" us here a bit, Sheba is back in action. and Im sure everybody agrees with me that she counts for 10. ^^
take your time on GSW, we will wait as long as it will take you. as I have experience with games which were released too early.. very buggy I can tell you.
Keep up the good work,

Although I'd love to help out, my HTML experience isn't all that great and I just don't have the time, but I do hope you do find that awesome co-staffer you're looking for.

You didn't stop to think some people just enjoy discussing games? same as books and movies and music?
Good to see a update, good luck with your new site.
I don't know crap all about staffing and website and stuff so i'm no use.

And watch, there are certain types of people who any admin just would not want on their forum. Thats what I meant when I said I understand where Max is coming from.

It doesnt need to be brilliant to be appreciated. Some of you young new members need to learn to appreciate it no matter what you think of it. This is my first post in quite a long time, I return every now and then. The good old days back in January 2004 was the top point of this forum, in my opinion. Small communities are best, and my assumption is that that is part of the reason why Max is making a new site. Also the fact that nothing new is coming on golden sun if E3 fails to produce anything, but camelot has no current projects that are known (to the best of my knowledge), so there is a glimmer of hope. I can't really think of anything else to say, my words of wisdom have come to a halt. See you people the next time I post.
Sheba, good to see you again, long time no see.

I would say more January to May-ish. And yes, small communities are better than huge bustling forums.

However, for the time being, I don't see a problem.

Except there hasn't been a content update for around 12 months. There was the change from IPB 1.3 to IPB 2.0, and the design change, but the actual content update has been GSW related, not GSS. Also, another problem is the amount of members leaving, which will lead to the decline of the forums, and the site.

and for Professional sites, I must agree I don't want other people breathing down my neck when I am making a new website, so yes, Max has all the right to keep it a secret.

I doubt that; there are still alot of GS fans out there, even if there aren't so much here anymore. You never know when they may come online and visit GSS or register at GSSF. Personallly, I think its OK Max is starting a new website, I just don't want him to delete GSS or GSSF (which I don't think he'll do, hopefully)

And when will you realise that GS is an abandoned series. The same here is happening with pretty much every golden sun site. No content updates because everything has been covered. No activity in GS boards because everything has been discussed to death.

I think Camelot will make some form of sequel to it eventually. :D Look at Metroid... it was put on pause for a loong time, but just look at how many recent titles there are now! But let's not turn this into another GS3 topic...
Good luck on that new site Max. ;)

Golden Sun, however, is entirely self contained. There is little room for a new game. metroid is one of those titles that you can pick up and do whatever you want with. Golden Sun was entirely plot based, and i think they will choose to create an entirely new world rather than attempt to modify the GS world for a sequal (and then just screw it up anyway).

I will wait 1 more year for a new Golden Sun, if there's no word on it... My hopes are going to be 0.000000001/100%
