I notice some days the toal forum post count is around 160,000, and on others it's down at 114,000. Why is that?

hmmm... I know that they don't count towards the individual member's post count, but do posts in the spam forum count towards the board's total? is so, the pruning might be what's doing it.

Yes but it goes up and down regularly, and not by a few hundred, but by 35,000ish,

That's a good question Agatio, and I'm not sure exactly why that happens. I imagine it has something to do with how IPB caches and recounts the total posts. It also may or may not be including posts from you-know-where depending on whether you are logged in or not.

Even counting those posts, it doesn't add up. It still leaves 10,000 posts unaccounted for, oh well. No big deal really, I just think it's odd that the number jumps around so much.

I just noticed this too... Maybe it's like Max said, it's how IPB caches things... But even with that, I don't think it should jump THAT much.

Alright if no one has any answers I'll close this, it's just a wierd glitch, and it's doing no harm.
