Uhm, okay... Play through the game fighting all the monsters you encounter until you reach the final boss, at which point you should be leveled up just fine by fighting all of the monsters along the way. And since there is nothing else to do after the final boss you don't need to level up anymore so send them over to TLA!

If it's for both games then I'd put it in GS2, but for just GS, then I'd probobly spend all my time in the venus lighthouse, better yet, cross bone isle.

Yeah, I use the Lure cap in places like Venus Lighthouse, Babi Lighthouse ect. and the first time through crossbone isle is good exp...

But, other then that, I just go through the game just leveling up as I go and by lvl 30+ I usually beat the game...

Hmm... I never heard of that...

But I used the Tempest Lizard a few times but it only gives you about 1000 exp only... I can get more than 1000 exp in Venus lighthouse in one battle...

I use the lure cap all the time. I also use the lucky cap to boost criticals. Right now I'm using the lure cap at jupiter lighthouse.

It works, yes. If it weren't for the fact that it is somewhat... cheap... and is very long and tedious...

in GS1 I've always stuck with the Tempest Lizard or Venus Lighthouse... the Lure Cap is invaluable.

Yes but with the lure cap on, the fighting will happen more and the more point you will get.

In the first Golden Sun deary, when you win the Coloso ( spelled wrong ) Its that tournament that Babi wanted you to enter in, and if you won all your battles, you get the Lure cap! I lost the first time but yeah, then I won the fourth time! lol stupid huh? but that's where you get it! So now you know! lol ( laughs at herself )

Assuming you used a Gold or Link Cable transfer, your Lure Cap will be sent with Isaac and Co. to TLA. You can use it once you get back Isaac.

On gs1 wandering around Venus Lighthouse with the Lure Cap.
Killing the Tempest Lizard over and over works too.
On gs2 wandering around the Islet Cave, also with the Lure Cap.
The second method much faster than the first.(and more interesting)

The best strategy I employ is to simply fight every single monster battle (unless I'm desperately low on HP) that comes my way, from the start of the game. It may seem unorthodox, but by the time you reach Venus Lighthouse in GS1, you'll be surprised at the levels of your characters.

Of course, after beating Colloso, you get the Lure Cap... which just supports this. But challenging the Tempest Lizard gives you a Potion each time... either way.

it takes forever? Really, I've made it a habit with myself (not just with Golden Sun, but with other RPG type games... at the moment, the only example I can think of is Fire Emblem ... I make sure to defeat all enemies/reinforcements).

Just put on the Lure Cap and forget about it :agitated:

*sighs* I will never understand the purpose of reaching level 99 (well, other than a sense of achievement and the highest possible stats and all).

A note: Your characters stop learning most Psynergy techniques in the mid-50's, and for GS1 your characters only need to be in the mid-20's to beat the game: for TLA your characters should be in the low Forty's.

It is fun to reach level 99. Although the most even and fair play and argued "best" play is around level 54.

Anyways, yeah. Mid 40's for TLA means you're fine. 20's for GS means you're fine too.

Fighting Saturos and Menardi and then falling to the Fusion Dragon is a good way to level up, I know, I've used this strategy a whole lotta' times and it works pretty well (you gain 6000 exp.), however, by the time your party is lv. 40 or so, it gets repetative and they'll begin to need way more exp. to level up anyway; so I advise it for weaker parties (like lv. 20-25), and for stronger, just mill around the Venus Lighthouse with the lure cap on.

(I used this tactic and reached lv. 50, but it demands patience. Lots.)

yeah... I used the Lure Cap... but it sucks sometimes.... it takes too long.... I don't have paitence.... That's why I said that they should let let you buy Experience points.. it would be easier.. but stupider.... yeah.. it shoudl be a rarety... you only get like 2! and its for your whole party.. and they go up 10 levels! yeah.. they should of gotten something like that.. but yeah.. the Lure Cap is the best Idea....

It wouldn't be such a problem if leveling up didn't require so much experience (maybe, like, 25000 points per level...that's easy to do).

But then again, purchasing exp. isn't such a bad idea either, maybe 100 points for 10000 coins...

The highest you'll want to go is level 54, because Isaac learns Grand Gaia, (actually, I believe you said that, Sky Dragon, or someone with an Isaac avatar). Maybe level 55 just to even it out.

I think that the best leveling up stratergy in Golden sun is towards the top of the venus light house. and the wonder birds in TLA.

I pretty much just fight the Wonder Birds, kill one at a time and let the other use Reagan Dance. As long as you don't die and they don't run, you'll rack up MAJOR xp ( we're talking in the hundred thousands, here. :blink: )

I used that technique, but with bees. The ones outside Kalay were good spots when i was in the 18-22 levels. 20+ I went into Suhalla desert and kept using douse on lizards. Easy exp for lower level people.

I don't use a strategy. I simply fight every monster I come across unless my party is in bad shape, in which case I get out the Sacred Feathers. I also like to buy the best possible equipment before moving on, so I'll often spend a while fighting outside of cities to gain more money, and sleeping at the inn whenever necessary.

This approach pretty much ensures victory against most bosses.

I fight every monster I encounter, always going to the inn when going to a town. This way my characters are always too big a level to get seriously ingured, even after fighting many monsters in a row. Also, if I need to, I use HP restoring Psynergies. Of course.

But after finishing the game the best place to level up is in the Sea of Time islet, in the long coridoor when going toward Sentinel. Those Phoenixes(right?) give a crapload of experience.

Most people go for the play as you go technique, well I always get too far behind for that. I have training spots.

These are my GS1 spots. Havent got any GS2 ones, or if I do, I cant remember.

lvls 3- 8- Kolima Forest area
9-12- Imil area/ Merc lighthouse
13-18- Kolima bridge all the way to Lamakan Desert
19-22- Kalay area- Tolbi Area
23- 26- Suhalla desert/ Tornado Lizards
27- 30- Venus lighouse/ Suhalla pass
31+ Tempest Lizard, Xbone isle

I usually train in the top three areas that you pointed out. But XBone Isle is only good for once. You only battles those beasts once to get the door open, and there aren't anu other battles except for Deadbeard, which you also only fight once. But it's still great for one go-around.

Ya thats the easiest thing to do, especially if you have the djinni bane. For some reason I can get that effect to only work on the lizard monster only.

Oh well... I've normally just walk around the Venus Lighthouse and use the elemental djinn with the weakness of the monster to kill them so we get extra exp and sometimes I just killed Saturos and Menardi for a nice 6k exp then die at the dragon... It works though... once I beat them by just attacking (not sure if I healed though)

i find that helps , but there's an off chance that the one you didnt kill
will just run. also it leaves my 3other chars defending if i do.
and if i doesnt use regen dance then ur stuffed , it will have dealed
3pyroclasms to your party. leaving you standing (or kneeling if downed)
