Wiflewood's Art All my new stuff will go here

OK, I'm going to use this topic to display all my stuff that I do from now on, rather than little bits of work here and there.
As you may know, I got a digital camera for christmas, its a fujifilm 4.3megapixel one if you want to know, and I decided to take some photos (unsuprisingly)
First off, I want you to understand that in the past I have never been a great photographer, and any photos I have taken were just 'holiday scrapbook' style shots of friends and family posing in front of historic monuments or whatever. This is my first try at taking 'photos as art'
Anyway, I took my camera to the field near my house, and took a few shots. I'll post them below with a bit of explanation for each.
Sun through the trees
This one is an un-edited shot of the sun shining through a clump of trees on the field. I tried to get the sun to catch light on the twigs and branches.
Purple sky
This one is edited a bit in Paintshop Pro. I increased the saturation and messed with the colour a bit to get the purple in the clouds to be a bit more prominent. I also cropped the image down a bit, as there was a lot of grass at the bottom.
Untitled
I'm pretty proud of this one. There was a few shots similar to this one I took but they didn't come out right because of that vertical white line you get when you point that camera at the sun, luckily this one came out right. It is un-edited.
Comments & Criticisms are appreciated. I'd like a few pointers on how to take better shots.

1st one is good, I like it. Cool contrast. It's a bit messy though, seems there is no real focal point for the image.
2nd I like a bit more. Nice effect on the sky. Though I think if it was bigger, it would allow mroe depth in the image.
And the last one has good use of contrast as well, but I think it would be better if I couldn't see any of the hill below the skyline. It's hard to explain, but with sunset shots the sun should draw the eye, not the landscape below it. If that made any sense. Maybe zooming in on the sun so most of the image is taken up by it and the tree in front would have improved it.
Anyway I'm new to photography as well, but that's just some thoughts.

Do you live on a ****ing farm like Memories Remain? Nice photo's though, between you and me, I envy the fact that you have a nice camera and I don't. I spend all my wages on garbage instead of saving up for cameras and such... Although there's that HD Widescreen TV that is awesome, the screen is huge and it's so thin... But it's £1500.

No comments? :)
Here are a few more:
Sky and clouds
Clouds1 - Picture of clouds over a hill.
Sky Rend - Picture of Sun breaking through clouds dramatically.
The Sky is Blue - Picture of Blue sky with clouds and bright sun.
Barbed Wire
Tri Wire - Three strands of barbed wire from a fence, varying degrees of rust.
Spiked - Greyscale barbed wire tangled in a thorn bush.
Misc
Overlight - A ceiling light taken from an odd angle with the shadow of a figure.
Grate - A shining grate of a fire. Any coincidence to Agatio's "Gate" is entirely coincidental :) . His is better anyways.
Rockstar - A picture I took at a party last night. It was an accident really, but the cigarette smoke and movement of the guitar come together in a pretty abstract picture.
C&C appriciated.
