I don't play it, I'd love to but my computer specs makes a PS2's look amazing. Unfortunately many of the EDGE UK members play it and because of this they are always tired at training nights because they "were on World of Warcraft all night" ... Grrr... Assholes...

Hmm, i think your thinking of the "warcraft" games, the games WORLD of warcraft is based on. The warcraft games feature a lot of strategy cos they're kind of like fire emblem. WoW is much more involved, think runescape, except much more involved, better graphics, better EVERYTHING, uh, so to answer your question WoW isnt based on strategy, but it still features fights horde vs. alliance
<_<

I think the main thing that seperates this game from other MMO's is that it's very easy to get into the world, unlike Maple you don't mess up your first character. The game is user friendly, it's easy to understand for beginners of MMO's and hardcore MMO gamers. The world is rich and colorful, the quality of everything is great, it's the blend of many little things that have been done to a great level which makes this game great. Most other MMO's have various 'flaws' but WoW covers many of those up, but that's not to say it doesn't have any. Also the option of being able to choose if you want to play in a Player vs Player world or a Player vs Monsters world is a nice thing, although not entirely original.

It's still unlikely that I'll pick this game up. Massive Multiplayer Online games are... overrated. (and over-addicting) More likely I'll pick up Guild Wars, which has no monthly fee and is created by ex-Blizzard developers. (I think these ex-developers were the original developers of WarCraft and Battle.net)

In my opinion of course. Meh, I just don't really like wow that much. Don't really like the graphics much at all. I prefer GW. Better game I think, and no monthly fees.

And your 'statistics' were just created by you to reflect your opinion that WoW has more nubs than GW. WoW may have more n00bs for the simple reason it's got more players and is much more popular than GW is, but it really isn't such a huge issue like you try to make it out to be.
I suggest you play the game before pretending to know about the players. I've been playing this game for almost a year and I've had to deal with hardly any n00bs at all. In fact, most people were (are) very mature...
#45
Posted 12 October 2006 - 11:45 PM
yes, it does matter. I know the aliance side of Barthilas is full of n00bs and I couldn't stand playing there. The horde side of Frostmourne, which my main is on, is mostly mature. The age of the server also matters, since the n00bs tend to reroll on new servers all the time...
I'm sorry if you had a bad experience with WoW, because clearly the rest of us havn't.

My biggest complaint with the game is how time consuming it is. You can play for hours and make no real progress, but that's a product of the genre, not the game. WoW is less time consuming than other more 'hardcore' MMOs such as EVE Online

Ack, pvp servers. I had a few friends re-roll on pvp servers after not being able to get enough PVP in battlegrounds, but I don't think I could do it. It just seems like a huge hassle to level while getting ganked every five seconds. Well, I suppose that won't really happen until level 25-30, but meh.
It's extremely addictive. I've known people who have been fired from their jobs and everything, or quit, to play. It's especially dangerous if you're in school >.>. I know seven or so people that play from mine. I think it's a fun game, but it loses its touch after a year or so...well, I just burnt out from raiding. It's annoying when you get into high end guilds. You kind of don't have a choice but to play for eight hours or so straight with 40 people >.>.
I have a few characters on Staghelm - a level 70 mage, 60 priest and 53 pally ><. I hope you have fun with the rogue, I always hated trying to level one.

Tailoring: You need netherweave cloth, which is dropped in Outland or Kara. Easier for me in Outland.
Enhanting: Arcane dust is disenchanted from BC greens.
Quests: Good items when questing there
Scyer: Upping rep with them.
Nagrand: Battleground
Hellfire Citadel
I'm no way ready for BT. I'm more T4 geared.
But I admit, Karazhan is the best instance for me now, but I'm a priest. I get lots of invites to lots of raids.

I have the Primal Mooncloth set (I'm a tailor), got all those trainer enchants, and a few drop enchants on me (my enchanting is 335. Currently I'm farming for the enchants in BEM and Netherstorm, unsuccessful so far (farming like an hour now).
Got a few blues (Weapon, rings and wand lol'd), and one T3
And obviously, my build answers the question as to why I didn't mention any PVP rewards items, (only got a PVP reward trinket)

But if he were in elwynn, Darksword, Horde players would be unable to attack Harry unless Harry attacked first (or typed /pvp). This is assuming that Lemontime isn't a pussy and plays a PVP server.

Onyxia kinda' sucks. 1. The population is low, 2. Alliance is somewhat more active than Hordes (I would have had better gear if I was alliance I suppose), 3. Guild progession is slow (on both factions)
I grew up as a SPriest so lvling wasn't that hard (and the low population helped in questing) and PvP isn't extreme. Also my shadow past explains my sub-par healing gear.
Anyway, like I said before, I might be switching servers soon to meet some real life friends, but most likely I'll won't renew my WoW subscription (I pay using the game cards) x.x

First off, I would like to thank you for putting my mount quest at the end of an instance that NOBODY F*CKING DOES ANYMORE.
And Second, HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO FEND OFF AN ARMY OF DEMONS WHILE TRYONG TO KEEP THE RITUAL GOING?
At least I finaly found somebody nice enough to give me a hand. After about two hours of killing through the end, we tried to do the ritual. After out third time dying, we had to spend a half an hour trying to put together a proper group. Then we went back in, died a few more times, and we have to go back and get repairs.
It took another half an hour to get back on track. During which, two members of the group were disconnected, including me.
Aparently, WoW felt sorry for me, because I had a trully great stroke of luck. Somehow, the ritual continued on while we were getting repairs, so by the time we got back to the chamber all I had to do was open the portal.
So now I finaly have a Dreadsteed l:D
