The previous news post is no longer relevant, so I figured I should post something new. Please head over to the GSW site (http://gsw.goldensun-syndicate.net) and weigh in on the question proposed in the latest news post there. I would really appreciate feedback from as many people as possible.

Well, I'd prefer if you'd just release a server test for once, and then you can do whatever you want.

After a long day of school my minds not processing everything. So either you soon enough realease it as is or we wait but get a better version? I'd rather wait.

        Realease now-Pros
It would 'sastify our 'hunger' for awhile.
The newbies would be able to play.

        Cons
You would be spending time trying to fix an outdated version, and from my understanding you don't have alot of spare time, let alone time for GSW.
Like previous tests the same old thing gets boring after awhile.

        Wait for a better version-Pros
We get a better version, simple enough

        Cons
        We don't get it now.

If it were me i'd wait, but lets see what the crowd says.

As I said, I'd just prefer the overhaul for the following reasons:

          1. No need to waste your time revamping the current version just because we want to play.
          2. If you and avener pass up the opportunity to work on GSW, who knows when it'll come around again.

Well I've never played GSW but I'd want to wait to get a better version and play it cause I've waited all this time so why not wait some more.
But its up to you guys.

Go for the early release for the people that missed it. Plus it'll probably be easier to update once you have it under the new softaware, rather than updating and then re coding it.

The latter option would inevitably be better, in my opinion. One of the key focuses of Golden Sun World is interaction, both with other people and with the various features available. It opens up the potential and the possibilities for futureadditions and innovations, which in itself is far more prudent then simply satisyfing a short-term desire for GSW.

On that note, imagine how much more appealing GSW will be if it realistically portrays the Golden Sun atmosphere, to a greater extend than before. Also, promise is something very important; in taking the time to allow GSW to be more easily updated, you are ensuring that people will now be willing to be dedicated and active, since it would not be constant, but prone to future additions and change. For example, you mentioned the possibility of adding real-time battles against other opponents; even if that is not implemented right away (and I imagine that would perhaps take some time), just the fact that it would be possible would guarantee a considerable influx of members, especially at its launch.

I know this is probably not a new argument, but overall, the second option is more versatile and would be well worth the wait. After all, GSW is perhaps the most significant factor in the Golden Sun community in its present state, and it would be well to ensure that it is as refined as can be.

Actually, I retract my statement. Max, I think you should do whatever you think is best for GSW and yourself.

I think I'd be better to wait because once it comes out it is more likely to make people come back if it is way better.

I've waited a long time to play GSW, ever since I joined this forum. (see date to left) My choice would be option 2 however. I've waited this long and the promise of a much better version will make me wait however long it takes.

I too would also like to modify my previous statement; yes, I am still all for the second option, but perhaps you could also compromise by releasing beta versions of GSW as that progress continues. At least one or two, between now (if you decide that option) and the summer time.

But ultimately, I still am all for taking the time to really refine GSW, and thus I believe it would be well worth the wait.

I definity wouldn't mind waiting several months =p
I'd rather wait longer for a upgrade rather than wait shorter for another conventional version. Either way, i'll remain quite inquisitive about it.

Do what you want with GSW.
1.Early release will give newbies who missed out a feel to it.
2.I don't mind waiting several more months for it.
                          It's your decision.
