The plot behind the story is rather odd, really. The King of the Cosmos, in some sort of drunken rampage, has destroyed all the stars in the sky. So he calls upon his son, the prince, the help him replace those stars. Before each level starts, the king gives you a set time limit in which to create a katamari of sufficient size, before blasting it into the sky to replace a lost star. I don't know about you guys, but in my opinion, this game is pure gold. If it ever comes out in English, there ain't nothing stopping me from forking over that $20 note. What's more, there's even a sequel, appropriately titled: 'We Love Katamari'. <_<

The first game never came out anywhere other than Japan but the sequel is available everywhere. We bought We love Katarami about a week ago and it's brilliant. It's a simple idea but it's so addictive. One level starts with you picking up things like pizza and by the end you've rolled entire islands up.
It's good but the game is really weird. I'm still trying to decide if I like the weirdness or not. I don't like the length though. You're only given a few missions and they don't last long. That doesn't stop it being so good though.

I eventually get stuck to the ball myself, and the ball just automatically goes to things to stick to itself. <_< ; Friggen' awesome.
I wanna snag Me and My Katamari for the PSP if it comes to the USA.

As for it being hard to find... I'm not so sure. There were quite a few copies in the shop but it may be different elsewhere.
