I be headin' o'er seas to America for a week and I wanna buy me some cheap as games o'er there for my DS.
So here's the question, Does the DS have some sort of Region thingy, Like the xbox had?
Liiike.. I bought my DS in Australia, will it play a game that I buy in America-land?
    Thanks,
    The Person:><><:

lol America-land... you make joke similiar to my joke. e.g. I say China-land. :P

ANYWAY. Considering that Australia (Crikey!) speaks pretty much the same language as Britian (Bloody hell!), United States (Duuuude.), and Canada (****in' eh?) I imagine it should work just fine.

I think that, actually, the DS would play all games from all regions. You can set your personal language on the DS, right? So I don't think there's a difference in the way the DS performs depending on where it was bought.

I just looked on the back of K:CC and it says:
For sale and use in Australia and New Zealand only.
        What's that mean?!
Can you check the back of one of your cases? It's just underneath the "WARRANTY: Warranty Provided" Sign, on the back...

Uhh, K:CC? Elaborate, please. What do you mean by cases? Be more specific.

I checked the Warranty in the back of the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time manual and it said that the warranty for my game was only valid in the United States and Canada, so maybe that's what they mean.

            The box of the game?
            ;]
            K:CC = Kirby: Canvas Curse.
            On the back of it.
It has a big red deally that says warranty and so on.. Under that is what I said in the last post..

Huh, M&L:PT doesn't say much about a warranty on the back of it's case, but it does say: (in caps)

FOR SALE, RENTAL AND USE ONLY IN USA, CANADA, MEXICO AND LATIN AMERICA

I don't know what they mean by "for use only in the continent of America". Maybe someone of higher intelligence can figure it out. :P

So you mean like with DVD's having different regions? Well, since all the systems are made by the same company, I don't see why they would go to the extra trouble of making games for certain regions. Specially since they've never done that before. I've got an advanced game from Japan and it works fine on my SP/DS. (Though I can't understand a word it says) You should be able to buy a DS game here with no problems. I can almost garuntee it.

And with the warranty thing: If you buy a DS in say Asia, then bring it to the US, the US nintendo company will not replace your DS if it is broken when you bought it. You would have to travel back to Asia and get the replacement thing there.

You however get to buy a copy this week. I hate you <<.

Also, nintendo handhelds are never region coded. With the consoles you unfortunately get the problem of PAL and NTSC =\. A freeloader or modded console will fix that problem for you though.

                                                      It's like GameSpot says...

                                                      Quote

Controlling Samus is one of Hunters' strong points, at least once you get used to the controls. The default scheme has you dragging your stylus on the bottom screen to aim your weapons, while you use the D pad to move forward and backward or strafe left and right. Left-handed input methods also exist, so southpaws needn't fret over the prospect of using their right hand to aim with the stylus. The shoulder button lets you fire your selected weapon, while double tapping the touch screen will let you jump. Unlike the Metroid Prime games on the GameCube, there is no lock-on. You have to do all your own aiming. The stylus method can be a little awkward to learn for some, and it induced cramps in our hands at first; the temptation exists to switch the controls to the more familiar D pad and face buttons for your movement and aiming scheme. But if you stick with the stylus control, you'll find that you have much more precision over your aiming, and you're able to execute circle-strafes and other FPS-style maneuvers with ease. Up the sensitivity and you'll even be able to spin 180s, which can be key in multiplayer. In many ways, Hunters' unique control gives it a precise and speedy feel much closer to the keyboard-and-mouse input of PC shooters than you can get from typical dual-analog stick control schemes on console shooters.

I think they should put in a lock-on thingamajig for the game. I really liked the one for Zelda:Windwaker. Made it easy to aim at the targets.

But I haven't ever really played alot of Metroid. I just didn't really like the game. But like I said, I might get MP:H for the DS. I have a friend who's crazy about the games.

the GCN metroid games used a lock-on system similar to the Zelda games (a bit easier to use in some respects), but MP:H is designed to be an fps with emphasis on multiplayer.
