I haven't been here in about a year and half, but lately, I've been considering coming back. I'm just curious, though, if my warn level was increased a year and a half ago, shouldn't that go away by now? I'm quite a bit different than I was back then, and if I was to return, I'd just rather not have that hanging over my head.

I don't know who you are, but welcome back anyway! I don't think the warn thing should make you worry too much, some people here have a very high warn. The important thing is not to spam a lot and the warn you've got will go away... I think.

Just to note:

Moderators and Admins don't have a "warning level meter" floating around the site. If we warn you (anyone) and see you around, we remove the warning. If we warn you and you leave for a year and we don't see you, we won't remove your warning. If you (anyone) notices that they have had a warning for a while and wish to inquire about it, just PM a staff member and it will be dealt with.
