I know there probably have been numerous topics on this, but I just have to say that I think I've had enough of the automatic title capitalizing thingy.

*sigh* I'm sorry, it's early in the morning here and I'm not very good at explaining myself.

For example, if I want my title to be:

    DS Fourth Quarter Titles

    it ends up looking like

    Ds Fourth Quarter Titles

I've put up with this for a long time, but I'm really tired of it. I know it may cause problems with spammers, but wouldn't it be great to be able to have the title look like the title you typed in?

    Just a suggestion...

I've noticed that too. It's annoying, and I'd rather it wasn't there.

      You have my vote. B)

I edited the topic... You see how annoying people can make topic titles if it's allowed?

I really don't mind it being allowed, but usually n00bs just make topic titles so annoying...

Look, can't we all just be mature and learn to make proper topics?

Is there anyway you can keep the "caps lock" on only in the Common Room?

Yeah, I get annoyed when I type roman numerals like III and it shows up as Iii.

              I agree with you completely.

I can be bothered to edit the titles upon request until Max has a say in this. I did edit the title of my sprite shop. It used to go "Md" instead of "MD".

Well, thanks for the consideration, MD. I know it's a lot of work.

I guess the only person left to hear from on this issue is Max.

We installed a mod that prevented multiple capitals in topic titles because several members were abusing the privelege, and we were tired of so many topics with all capital titles. Having said that, I understand your concern, and I can look for a more forgiving mod to accomplish the same goal. I can't make any promises, but I'll see what I can do.

Maybe some sort of mod that doesn't allow you to capitalize untill you reach 100 posts or you've been around for a month or so. Most n00bs post about 15 times and then leave and they do this in 1 day. When abuse of this rule after these 100 posts or so many months just give out warning etc... I don't know what I'm talking about so this'll probably be really hard etc. but it'd be nice.

Someone can be a n00b and have 100+ posts. Being a n00b doesn't have to deal with experience. It's their personality on the internet that deals with that.

It's so dumb Nintendo fanboys doing post topics like "HELLO THARR" in all-caps. But I think most of you idiots are mature enough not to do that, so I say we take that sh*t off and I can finally say "PS2" without making it look g*y in a godamn topic title.

As for finding a MOD, there's really no need. We have a moderating team. Just make it a rule that you're not allowed to abuse the caps-lock button in topic titles or posts unless there's a good reason or something. If someone posts a topic like "I LUV ANUBIS" a Moderator can edit it into "I Luv Anubis" and verbally warn the member not to do it again. Simple as that, fo' shizzle.

Yeah, don't allow posts like I LUV ANUBIS. :D That'll probably work just fine.
Though it'd be really hard not to post that we love anubis. :silence:
Still, a verbal warn won't do much to such a n00b. He/She will probably keep spamming till bantime.
I'd say, take this rule really strictly if you're going to use that anyways.

Right now, it's jsut up to the stage where we edit it manually. There's a problem, though. I keep changing my Sprite shop name to "MD's Sprite Shop", but it keeps reverting back to "Md's". Seems to happene very time I get an e-mail notification about it.

I've noticed that when first posting a topic, it won't capitalize consecutively (i.e. 'DS' becomes 'Ds', 'Final Fantasy III', becomes 'Final Fantasy Iii').

However, by editing the topic title afterwards, the capitalization is retained exactly.

Two of my recent topics demonstrated this:

                                          Link 1
                                          Link 2

expect a moderator to find loopholes xD

In all seriousness, I think the mod should be removed now. It's not very often we get a new member, and even less often we get a new member that's a spamming n00b.

When I upgrade to the next version of IPB, the mod should be overwritten. To be honest, I'm not sure exactly which mod I had used, so I'm not sure how to uninstall it. I'll have to do some search around my software archives to see if I can find it. But if someone can find me a better mod for this, then I would appreciate it.
