I didn't find a topic on this through search, so I'll assume this is new.

Is this a joke, or does this look real? Even I have to admit it's a cool thing. I'd probably buy one, if this IS actually real. If it is real, lets hope this doesn't turn into a "______ take over humanity" thing.

....Okay. YOU can hope it doesn't happen.

It doesn't look cool. It looks disgusting. That's stupid.

It's probably an early version. Like with computers. They upgrade.

GenPets are crimes against nature. Also, I highly doubt it's real.

This is sick. This better not be real. I don't know what kind of sane person would want those. Defeats the purpose of having a pet.

That just pushes the limit of morals and ethics.

I too hope these aren't real.

                    Its dumb too, its like
"It's so cheap, you can afford to replace it if something happens"
Look how fragile-looking that thing is, I doubt it'll survive the 2 day mark, much less the 3 year limit the thing has. Plus its just so fugly that I would use it to scare children than get it for them for gifts.

                    EDIT:
                    http://www.snopes.co...der/genpets.asp
Its fasle, Genpets is just something some guy made up to get people thinking about the future about bioengering.

I am re-opening this topic. Furthermore, I am moving it to the Current Affairs section, as there definitely is room to discuss and consider not only GenPets, but the implications of bioengineering and technology as well.

Those things looked really creepy. And just wrong. Thank God its a fake. Though I'm willing to bet the number 1 slot on my hero list that and actual real business revolving around bioengineering will spring up sometime in the future.
