A few hours later it was replaced with a message about the software being upgraded.

Ooookay, that's weird. I never saw that. BUT, I would guess, if anyone, it was that Zxor guy.

I just saw the software message.

Well thats the second time we've been 'haxed'. And I doubt Zxor is able to hack a forum.

Also. Is this all because of a fight on Maplestory? If it is then, well, I think it goes without saying some people need a life.

Do to that five word rule, I'm saying this part here.

          Real message: Amen to that.

I only saw the board updating message. Lots of forums have been getting hacked lately...I think it has something to do with the software.

I didn't see THAT message, but I couldn't go onto GSSF all day yesterday because of the software upgrading message. Weird...

Yeah, the "U got hazxed!" message only appeared for a few seconds before I got redirected to the Goons.net board for me.

My guess is that somebody found a huge exploit in the previous IPB source and was hacking all the boards they could find. It would also explain the board software update.

                    Yes.

An exploit was found in IPB 2.1.6 (the version we were running). The news of an exploit being found is spread within hours and these "hackers" were really script kiddie just using the exploit knowledge found somewhere else to put our forum offline with a pleasant offline message.

Our forum has been upgraded to 2.1.7, the latest stable source.

I only saw the update message, so this is a surprise to me. At least it's all been sorted out now, though.

Yes, the situation has been resolved. We were running a slightly outdated version of IPB, and the "hackers"/"script kiddies" used a security exploit to "hack" the forums. I was without internet for over a day due to a storm, but when I recovered my internet I immediately fixed the issue and upgraded the forum software.
