I have a question. If I post in a topic, and that topic gets moved to the Common Room, will the post I made still count toward my number of posts?

I think it does but any further posts obviously won't count. I'm not 100% sure so if someone wants to say then do.

The answer is both yes and no. The forum software will add the post to your post count when you post it in a forum where posts count towards your postcount. However, periodically we have the forum software recalculate everyone's post counts, so any posts in topics that were moved to the Common Room/Introductions Forums or have been deleted are not counted (thus appearing to subtract from your post count).
This is why every so often people will notice their post count drop unexplicably.

How often are these recounts? I've noticed actually only one since I joined.

I usually do them when I do a major software version (i.e., 2.x to 2.(x+1)). So once IPB 2.2 finally comes out, I'll probably have it do a recount.

So I might be celebrating 4000 posts again in the near future. Unless of course, I get more posts beforehand.
That's good to know, I'm always interested to know the inner workings of IPB.
